A lot has been going on this week (cleaning, mostly, in anticipation of Thanksgiving which will soon bring 7 house guests and about 25 for dinner); however, I have managed to sneak in a little sewing which I will be sharing soon. But first, I hope you'll entertain a little digression. I
What I’m Working on Wednesday
Just checking in...I can't believe next week is Thanksgiving! And I can't believe 20+ people will be having dinner here that day! There is so much to do over the next few days! So I'm trying to sew even just a little every day to keep my sanity!
I'm hoping to finish up this hexie-pieced Christmas
Quilts from Festival
On my last day at International Quilt Market I was able to spend a couple of hours looking at the Quilt Festival quilts. I was really excited to be able to view a show of this kind--I don't think I'd ever seen so many amazing quilts in one place. Carrie had mentioned to me that during market was an
Finish it Up Friday
I've been following Amanda's Finish it Up Friday's posts and thought today would be a good day to join in! First I finished up my "Make it Do" pillow that I started over a year ago!
The stitchery is a Sarah Jane pattern and has actually been finished for quite awhile. I waited to finish up
Hello Wednesday!
I finished row 5 of the Bee In My Bonnet Row Along...Lori had a fast and easy method for making these cute little flying geese that finish at 1" x 2".
And now I have 5 happy rows. Lori just posted the cutest teacups today for row 6, so I'll be making those this week for sure!

Fig Tree Fall 2012
Just before market I was able to piece two quilts for my friend Joanna of Fig Tree & Company! I fell in love with both designs, and they were both beautifully quilted by Joanna's quilter Diana.
This quilt is Lollipops, and I was able to piece the Tapestry version. Joanna has a full post on
The Colors of Market
One of the things I noticed about market was that vibrant tones and bright colors were everywhere! I LOVED Moda's theme for this market..."My favorite color is Moda!" (The photo above is courtesy of Melissa at Happy Quilting...thanks Melissa)!

A Little Bit of Avalon
Recently these wonderful pieces of fabric arrived--they are from Joanna Figueroa's new collection, Avalon! Before I started sewing a market quilt made with these fabrics I had to snap a few pictures! I absolutely love, love, love the taupes and reds!

Farming, Quilting, and Family
Wednesday night I finished setting together the blocks for my Farmer's Wife quilt. Honestly, I just wasn't prepared for the emotions I felt as I was sewing the final seams. My first Farmer's Wife post (here) was June 8, 2011, so this quilt took nearly 16 months to get to this

Well, this is a "works in progress" week, and I'm happy to say I am making some progress! First I finished my last blocks for the Blogger's Block of the Month quilt! Sarah's block is so cute! I can't wait for next month when Jackie will show us her setting for the blocks!

Hello and happy Monday! So...I've really been wanting to start a new quilt...but I promised myself I'd get at least two quilt tops pieced together this week before starting. First, I'm finally going to put my Fig Tree Farmer's Wife quilt together. I finished sashing all the blocks on Saturday

Fun!
Over the past few days I've done a lot of yardwork, a little housework, and minimal sewing. So I decided to try to start and finish something fun after dinner last night! I've been wanting a "fallish" wallhanging to hang in my front entryway (after all, fall will officially be here Saturday even if
Planning
Planning is one of my favorite aspects of the entire quilting process. Sometimes it's wonderfully refreshing to sew without a plan and see where you end up, but planning and sketching and even dreaming about how a project might develop are inspiring activities too!
For quite a while I've
Rowing
Well...I've found a project to keep my mind off the Farmer's Wife quilting that I've been missing...Lori's amazing row-along! This is just week 2, so it's definitely not too late to join in! I'm using scraps from 3 Bonnie & Camille lines for my quilt...Ruby, Vintage Modern, and Marmalade.
Wednesday Worktable
Just a few things I've been working on this week...first of all, I couldn't stop working on the hexies...I finished every one I'd prepared!
And then I finished a few more!
I've really filled up my storage box, so now I need to decide if I should start piecing hexie flowers...or buy a bigger
