It’s going to be another hot and sunny weekend here which means I’ll be spending most of my time in my sewing room. I’ve got a lot of little projects close to finishing and am getting a jump start on some others. I hope you are able to find time to sew this weekend as well.

Saturday Seven 447: Lifestyle & More for Quilters

I loved this article on slowing down your life. And I also loved this post on zero negativity. I try to keep things positive, but it’s easy to let complaining creep in for the day to day.
2. Recipes to Try
These Easy Grilled Vegetables are the perfect summer side dish (and I love the idea of saving left-overs to add to breakfast omelets). These Air Fryer Chicken Recipes are perfect for keeping the oven off in this summer heat. And for a spectacular dessert, this Strawberry Chiffon Shortcake, Perfected looks incredible.
3. Quilt + Sew
This month all of the patterns from Fig Tree are on sale at Fat Quarter Shop. If there is something you’ve been wanting to get, now is the time. Also, a reminder just in case you missed this Summer Sewing post–it’s a good one to read now as you plan for your summer sewing.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
This week I really enjoyed the Deep Questions episode on cognitive fitness–so many ideas about ways we can “exercise” our brains for more creativity! And if you’re looking for some summer reading recommendations, Laura and Sarah discuss books (and Father’s Day) on this episode.

Since our Poinsettia & Pear fabrics arrived this week, I’ve been busy getting those ready to ship out. And that means we can now take pre-orders for the Birch & Willow packages.
