Hello! If you are here for the Sew, Mama Sew Giveaway Day…welcome, and be sure to click here for that post.
Happy December…it’s Simply Small Day…the day I highlight patterns and projects with 2 ½″ squares. Today I’m hosting a parade of projects from this tutorial and pattern! I’m actually going to be working on binding two of these runners today–they are both Christmas gifts! And, at the end of this post I’ll announce what we’ll be working on for the January 10th parade of projects with 2 ½″ squares!
It has been so much fun to see the runner photos come in. What I especially like is seeing how everyone has been able to adapt this pattern to fit their own table sizes. Seeing the variety of fabrics used has been fun, and I have also loved seeing some different quilting ideas! First up is this tied version from Karen.
Carol made this beautiful version using Winter’s Lane with a cream background. It looks so elegant!
Courtenay made this beautiful version with a darker background!
And I especially love the quilting here by Lea Anne on her runner.
Lesley has two finished up…love the contrasting backgrounds and borders on these!
Maria made a lovely version as well.
And this runner from Retro Chic…well, let’s just say I need to make a Happy Go Lucky version as soon as possible!
Sandy made this delightful version with a scrappy border!
Sharon also made a beautiful table runner!
Judith sent in this photo of her Simple 9-Patch Table Runner…
And Karen W. made this gorgeous version with modern straight line quilting to finish it off.
Lisa used a beautiful red background for her runner.
Julie just sent this photo in today…she is binding it in green!
And Susan made this beautiful runner! There are just so many fun ways to use up these 2 ½″ candy packs and squares!
Okay…guess what…I have some prizes to give away…candy…Moda Candy to be exact. I’ll come back and update this post later tonight with the winners (I want to be sure I didn’t leave anyone out…). So be sure to check back later this evening to see if you are a winner.
EDIT: Will Carol, Karen W., Lisa, Susan, and Sharon please send me your addresses! I have some Moda Candy to send you all! Thanks so much and congratulations!
And…I’m sure you’re wondering about next month! December is a busy time of year, but I came up with a plan so we don’t have to miss a month. For the January 10th parade, send in any photo of a Moda Candy project you’ve made. If you’d like to submit multiple projects, please include them all in one photo. Some ideas are….notebooks covers, wall hangings, pot holders, placemats, and table runners. Just a few of my recent Moda Candy projects are pictured above. (You can even send in a Simple 9-Patch Runner if it hasn’t already appeared in this parade). Along with your photo, please send in the name of the pattern/pattern designer or tutorial you used so I can include that information in the parade. Hint: there are going to be a lot of free Moda Candy projects this month on the Moda Bakeshop, and you are welcome to use those too! So it will be a “mixed bag” parade for January with lots of fun ideas for your 2 ½″ squares!
Thanks so very much for your participation and for stopping by today!
