Scrappy Patchwork Table Runner

Remember these 4-patches from the other day? Well, at first I was just sewing “just to be sewing,” but then I decided to use them for a couple of table runners to bring a little “fall” into the house! I’ve been thinking if I bring out the fall quilts then the temps will stay on the cooler side!

I ended up with two Scrappy Patchwork Table Runners!

Version one is made with Tapestry fabrics for the blocks and some Fig Tree green polka dot for the binding.

Some quilted swirls add a touch of whimsy to this one…

This one is in my family room right now!

The second version of the table runner is made with the Fig Tree collection, Avalon. I used a taupe gingham from Strawberry Fields for a neutral binding.

I can’t decide which one I like better…I auditioned the Avalon version in the family room, but it’s now on the dining room table.

You can use Moda candy squares for the 4-patches, or cut up charm squares or scraps…

It’s a perfect scrappy stash project…

I’ve been trying to be good about writing up my projects as soon as I make them so I can use them for classes; I wrote up a PDF pattern for the Scrappy Patchwork Table Runner and have it for sale over here.

I love this table runner – such a simple beginning with an awesome finish!! I am always looking for new ideas for tablerunners, they are perfect gifts (just ask my sisters, SIL, aunts, cousins……)

Love your runner and the quilting you did.
I always hand stitch mine, but I would like to do nicer quilting and designs on some.
