Tomorrow I get to kick off a blog tour for this amazing book: Scrap-Basket Sensations: More Great Quilts from 2 1/2" Strips! I can hardly wait!
But today I'll be sewing in here...
And re-organizing my quilt storage areas. See you tomorrow!
Swiss Chocolate
In my stash report post I mentioned I had received some other fabrics that I would share soon. Well, here they are! Recently I was received this wonderful fabric from Amanda and the folks at Robert Kaufman. Swiss Chocolate is Amanda's latest fabric line and is
Stash and Sneak Peeks
So, it's stash week 6 already, and things were pretty even this week. That's a good thing since quite a bit of fabric came in. First, though, some sneak peeks of my Strawberry Fields sewing this week. I'm happy to say I finished this quilt top, and it will be heading to Joanna! It

Color Play
It's been quite a little while since I put the blocks for this quilt top together (fabric It's a Hoot by Moda and "Mini Wild Thing" pattern from "Pint-Sized" by Camille). I pieced the blocks using a charm pack long before yardage was available for the borders, and just couldn't decide on border
Wednesday Worktable and Winners!

Mon Ami and…
"Sweet Spot!" I love this quilt! I saw it this morning on the Quilt Taffy blog, Taffy Talk. I just fell in love with this version of Carrie Nelson's Schnibble "Sweet Spot" made by Karen. And...it just so happens that this happens to be the next project for Le Petite!
And this is
It’s All About the Fabric
Today it's all about fabric (well, mostly--I do have a quilt to share at the end...and a giveaway winner to announce). The first thing that came in this week was 7 5/8 yards of some dreamy fabric from Joanna--her latest line, Strawberry Fields! This is my favorite Fig Tree collection
Sew Scrappy
Sewing more scrappy quilts was one of my quilting goals this year. Making more charity quilts was another goal. So, I was excited when I read this post and realized I could do some scrappy sewing and help someone out at the same time! (I used this block pattern to make my

Stash Week 4
I've been sewing on a project I can't share just yet...but I did get "Mon Ami" back from the quilter recently and am hoping to finish the binding soon.
Along the fabric front, I've been keeping good track of my stash this week...a lot came in, but a lot went out. I made a little
Borders
I know you've seen both of these quilts before...here and.here and here...so why did it take me until now to get the outer borders on? "Vanilla and Blooms" had 3 borders, but "Sugar Twist" only had 1...why, oh why do I procrastinate adding borders? Does anyone have any suggestions? I

Congratulations to all of the winners from the Be Mine Blog Tour. The grand prize winner was announced on Vickie's blog here. From my blog the winners are Karen from Badlands Quilts who won the $50 gift certificate from FatQuarterShop and Charlene who won the charm pack from me. Thanks
Intentions
My intentions were to work on bindings and borders; I was most definitely not going to start anything new! But when I got the binding on my Verna topper I remembered that I'd never made any hexagons using that line of fabric.
So I made a Verna hexie flower...
Then I remembered these

Today I'm participating in a blog tour to help spread the word about a new book that provides 12 quilt designs using AccuQuilt Go! templates for easier cutting. For 5 days, several bloggers will review some of the projects in the book. Looking through the book, I was glad to see a
Stash…Week 3
My FatQuarterShop 2010 Designer Mystery Block of the Month arrived this week...and I'm unsure of what to do about counting this yardage. Since I made it the day it arrived I didn't count it in my totals; however, I counted up the yardage that arrived with the kit, and it added up to nearly 7/8
Something…
Something new on my worktable is"Butterscotch Tart" by Fig Tree & Company; I'm using Soul Blossoms by Amy Butler.
Something almost finished is my Luna Notte quilt--I'm hoping to pick up the outer border today and will share pictures of the whole quilt top as soon as the

Just a "sneak peek"--please come back tomorrow for a tutorial and a giveaway!
In this week arrived 7 fat quarters of Denyse Schmidt's new line Greenfield Hill. I wasn't sure about this fabric from the photos on-line, but in person--it's stunning! The only problem with this purchase is
Mon Ami
I love this quilt! I love the 268 half-square triangles (yes, I sometimes count things like that), and I love the fact that every single seam nests due to the perfect pressing instructions. I love the pattern, and the fabrics are amazing. Even though I've collected quite a bit

Stash Report Week 1 and Winners!
For a couple of reasons I've decided to play along with the weekly stash report hosted by Judy. First, I really want to know how much I'm buying and how much I'm using. I thought about starting mid-way last year but decided to wait for 2011. I also want to play along to sort of
Happy 2011!
The first day of 2011...it's been pretty quiet around here--a lot of relaxing and a little sewing (hoping to tackle e-mails later on this evening). I procrastinated starting my "Mon Ami" quilt (December was so busy!)--but have really been enjoying working on it today ("Mon Ami," a Schnibbles pattern
New Beginnings
Almost 2011...a new beginning...and I have lots of projects in mind! I set some goals this week--beginning by looking at my inspiration board. There are lots of hexagons and dresdens on the wall...so I know I'll be making more of those in 2011. I loved making the "zig zags" for
A Tradition
I can't believe there are just a few days left in 2010...this year seemed to have sped by faster than any I can remember. I actually love the last week of the year when I can take some time to think about not only the year past but also goals for the year ahead. I always seem to

Still Busy
It's such a busy season...I have so much to do, so many places to be, and lists still to be made (just to make sure I don't forget anything)! Sometimes in the midst of all the "busy"ness we just need to slow down and think. Ponder. Reflect. Even sew something not on the list.

Happy Sewing!
2010 Collages
It's always fun to look back over a year's worth of sewing and remember projects started and finished. Making these collages was a lot of fun--it not only helped me to remember the year's work but also helped me set goals for 2011. (I still have a few projects that haven't

And Then There Were Two!
I finished up another stocking using this great pattern. I'm really happy with it...plus it went together so much faster than my hexagon version (don't get me wrong...I loved paper piecing the hexagons...but it did take some time)! I'm out of the white on white background fabric from
“Merry”
When Camille came out with her latest pattern featuring four of the most adorable Christmas stockings I'd ever seen I immediately ordered the PDF version. Of course I had to make the hexagon stocking first--and I had to use 12 Days of Christmas!
I fussy cut some of the hexagons--notice the words
Fabric Love…
I have loved fabric for as long as I can remember. I still remember visiting Cloth World with my Mom when I was a kid--it was never enough to just look at the fabric--I also had to feel it! Years later, when I worked there as a teenager I spent hours refolding fabrics to make the shop
Simple Gifts Part 4
Every day I've been working on gifts...I just love it! I think it's just part of the season for me to spend the first half of December making things for family and friends. These hexagons are part of a project I started over the weekend...I'll be sharing it soon!
One handmade gift I
Weekend Plans…and Winners!
This post should have been written yesterday...but I didn't get to sit down at my computer until this evening. Not only has this week been a whirlwind...but I also have so much on the list for the weekend--wonder if I'll get any sleep?!!! I have more Christmas gifts to finish (and
Happy December…and a Parade!
Not What I Should be Working On!
There are so many things I should be doing--I have more Christmas presents to make, more cleaning to do, and lots more decorating to finish, but I just had to set my "Sugar Twist" blocks together (Pattern by Margot of The Pattern Basket). Now to decide on a border!
And I just
