Thanks so much for all the nice comments on the progress of this quilt–I’m happy to say I got the borders on and will be piecing the back and making the binding today (I have a new resolution to make every single binding right as I finish each quilt top)! I love that this quilt is the perfect combination of whimsy and sophistication. The fabric I chose for the border is one of my favorite 12 Days of Christmas fabrics. Plus, I was lucky to find it at 50% off a little while ago!
I have a busy day planned for today–the first item of business is to clean my sewing room–it’s a disaster area, really. Then, to reward myself for cleaning, I hope to stitch together a couple of quilt backs and make a binding. I’m hoping to also cut out a couple of new projects, and then I have two quilts with binding ready to be hand-stitched if there is any time left over. It seems that once July rolls around I’m always in the mood to work on things that need finishing up–because I’m eager to start projects for fall and Christmas about then!
Oh, and congratulations to Nedra who will be receiving the “Fit to be Quarter” ruler from Monique! Have a great day!

I'm the same, it just seems to make that last few steps easier to get to once the quilt is quilted. This is a wonderful quilt.

I sometimes make binding and wrap it around a paper towel roll. Then forget which quilt it goes to. I am going to attach a note to it for identification in the future. You are making a wonderful Christmas quilt.

I love how you sashed your quilt with the white on white. It looks so great. That border just adds to the lighness of the quilt! Very pretty!

Such a great Christmas quilt! I've enjoyed watching this one grow.
Making the binding right away is a good idea. When your quilt come back from the quilter, you'll be ready to go!
Thelma says
Sherri, that Christmas quilt is amazing, going with the background fabric for the sashing was the way to go, it really puts the emphasis on those adorable blocks, which is the way it should be.
Wow, good luck with that To Do list for today!
