Thanks so much for all of the great comments on the sneak peek for this quilt. It seems most of us have started a “spur of the moment” project because the combination of fabric and pattern just seemed to be made for each other. And yes, it’s Swoon! I made this quilt last April as a sample for Camille’s booth at quilt market (see that version of the quilt here). I truly love this pattern…and I knew I’d be making it again…I just didn’t know what fabric line I would be using. I came really close to making another Ruby version, but I already have a couple of other projects lined up for my Ruby stash. So this pattern sat. Until the other night when I just knew it would be amazing in these fabrics!
If you’re not familiar with the pattern…it has quite the visual impact in person. It’s hard to capture in a photo the feeling you get from seeing this quilt in “real life.” The quilt is made up of 9 blocks, each measuring 24 inches finished.
I can’t wait to make a few more blocks. I was going to take my time with this one, but it’s just so fun to see the color combinations come together in the blocks that I might put everything else aside until this one is finished! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I LOVE this pattern and even blogged about it a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to be disciplined and finish some other things first but Swoon is calling my name!

I have quite a stash of this fabric myself! I was over the moon that we got it here in Australia in a discount-ish store too! I didn't like some of the prints but now I've seen them in your blocks I may have to grab some more 🙂

Oh my! When I saw your original quilt using that block I immediately thought of using the Denyse Schmidt range! Now this is the motivation I needed to cut into my stash! Beautiful!

Perfect! I didn't realize those blocks were so darn big. Much easier to get a quilt top finished with only 9 blocks! :o)

Your "Swoon" blocks are beautiful!! I'm looking for Camille's pattern locally but may have to use mail order. Thanks for the inspiration.

I definitely love this block in the fabric you chose. Beautiful. I have a spur of the moment quilt I'm working on right now! I LOVE the kind of inspiration that fabric brings to us.

Hi Sherri,
I ended up with 2 quarter yard cuts of Denise Schmidt fabric that I'm unlikely to use. Do you need any extra as I see you have to projects going with that fabric?
April says
Ok, I've been in a cave, of sorts, which fabric line is that?
Cille says
Ay ay ay… After your last post I finally broke down and got the Swoon pattern. Ben resisting it for so long. And I have some bundles of Heirloom and Prince Charming coming my way – should be halfway over the Atlantic by now. My fingers are itching to get started…. I love your color combos and look forward to see the completed quilt.
