Thanks so much for all of the great comments on the sneak peek for this quilt. It seems most of us have started a “spur of the moment” project because the combination of fabric and pattern just seemed to be made for each other. And yes, it’s Swoon! I made this quilt last April as a sample for Camille’s booth at quilt market (see that version of the quilt here). I truly love this pattern…and I knew I’d be making it again…I just didn’t know what fabric line I would be using. I came really close to making another Ruby version, but I already have a couple of other projects lined up for my Ruby stash. So this pattern sat. Until the other night when I just knew it would be amazing in these fabrics!
If you’re not familiar with the pattern…it has quite the visual impact in person. It’s hard to capture in a photo the feeling you get from seeing this quilt in “real life.” The quilt is made up of 9 blocks, each measuring 24 inches finished.
I can’t wait to make a few more blocks. I was going to take my time with this one, but it’s just so fun to see the color combinations come together in the blocks that I might put everything else aside until this one is finished! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I really like your dark blue and yellow mega block — it's really striking!
I LOVE this pattern and even blogged about it a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to be disciplined and finish some other things first but Swoon is calling my name!
I have quite a stash of this fabric myself! I was over the moon that we got it here in Australia in a discount-ish store too! I didn't like some of the prints but now I've seen them in your blocks I may have to grab some more 🙂

Oh my! When I saw your original quilt using that block I immediately thought of using the Denyse Schmidt range! Now this is the motivation I needed to cut into my stash! Beautiful!
I love the block design!! Those fabric combinations look great!

Beautiful blocks! I can truly understand why this one popped to the top of the list…I don't think I could resist either.
Lovely version Sherri! I am waiting for Ruby Collection to make my version. Congrats!!! kisses from Spain
Perfect! I didn't realize those blocks were so darn big. Much easier to get a quilt top finished with only 9 blocks! :o)
oh yes sherri! certainly going to be amazing!
Stunning blocks will result in a stunning quilt! I completely understand why it called to you. 🙂
Love, Love, Love! I have bought this pattern as well and I pulled out a F8 bundle of Sunkissed fabrics the other day that I am pondering using…we will see.

Very nice. I can't wait to see it all come together.
Wow, these are really beautiful! I love how big the blocks are. Love the white contrast too, which really shows off all the star pieces. Looks like a really fun project!

love your fabric choices! It's going to be beautiful!!!
Your "Swoon" blocks are beautiful!! I'm looking for Camille's pattern locally but may have to use mail order. Thanks for the inspiration.

I definitely love this block in the fabric you chose. Beautiful. I have a spur of the moment quilt I'm working on right now! I LOVE the kind of inspiration that fabric brings to us.
I ended up with 2 quarter yard cuts of Denise Schmidt fabric that I'm unlikely to use. Do you need any extra as I see you have to projects going with that fabric?
Ok, I've been in a cave, of sorts, which fabric line is that?
Ay ay ay… After your last post I finally broke down and got the Swoon pattern. Ben resisting it for so long. And I have some bundles of Heirloom and Prince Charming coming my way – should be halfway over the Atlantic by now. My fingers are itching to get started…. I love your color combos and look forward to see the completed quilt.
You use such beautiful fabric and make such lovely blocks. Wow!
i am making one right now for my daughter! i love this quilt!

Swoon is on my list. Out of Ruby of course. I love your DS version though. So pretty! I'm going to hit up the hubby for a Ruby FQ bundle for my birthday and this is what I'll be making from it for sure!

I'm swooning…got my pattern out the other day. I'm gonna make mine up in Lori Holt's Sew Cherry. I loved her blocks she showed on the blog so I'm excited to start…
Those are beautiful blocks, love the contrasting colors you used.
I too love the dark blue and yellow block. Would go exactly with my kitchen. Wish I could quilt like you.
Like your choice of color it is visually stunning block.
Looks great…yours will be finished before mine!
