I have some more Farmer’s Wife blocks to share! I’m pretty sure this is officially week 10–just can’t believe I’ve been working on these blocks that long, but I guess the summer is going by! Last week I thought I was ahead on my blocks, but since I’m making a king-sized quilt I realized that I need to be making 3 blocks a week for awhile.
First I made block 55, Linoleum.
Next, I made block 100, Weathervane, using Lori’s tutorial.
Finally, I made Block 19, Checkerboard. Checkerboard is a template block, but I just measured the actual templates and then cut my pieces to size.
Here are my Fig Tree versions of these three blocks.
Linoleum
Weathervane
And lastly, my Fig Tree Checkerboard (I heart this block)!
Also, I recently ordered the Marti Michell Perfect Patchwork Templates, Set S, which will help me make all of the 5-grid blocks more easily. I have to say I don’t love freezer paper or plastic templates, and since Marti’s templates always seem to work flawlessly I figured this set would be a good investment. I’ve made two blocks already using the templates from set S and will be posting about them soon. Nicole is also using templates from set A & B right now to make some of these blocks, and you can find out more information here!
Finally, be sure to stop over at Sinta’s blog to read all about the prize winners in the Le Petite parade (hint: if you had a quilt in the parade, you just might want to read about the winners). Oh, and go here to see the winner of the Green Fairy Quilts giveaway!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

What inspiration! I love your blocks (both colorways). I so need to start cutting, but might have to wait a bit longer and get those templates as I'm not real excited about making the templates myself. Thanks for the info on those!:)

The linoleum is my favorite. It reminds me of a wrapped present viewed from above. Great work!

I am in love with your fig tree blocks as as they speak to my color palette, but all your blocks are beautiful. I am not doing the Farmers Wife quilt along as I was concerned about templates and the amount of time I would be able to commit to. I am doing the Summer Sampler Series quilt along which ends up being a lot of paper piecing and I'm struggling with sizes. All in all, quilt alongs are fun and we certainly learn alot don't we? I would love it if you would host a quilt along. You are such an exceptional quilter and I know we could all learn a lot from you!

oolala, really love these blocks! especially love the weathervane and checkerboards. Those Christmas prints are really selling me on this project. I'm also impressed with how well you're keeping up with this quilt-along.

Yes, I'm joining the Band Wagon and will start making Farmer's Wife blocks tomorrow. Once I saw Lori's great tutorials, I just couldn't resist!

Beautiful blocks again and they look so neat and tidy. I think checkerboard in Fig tree is my absolute fav this time, but tough competition!

Ooh, I'm partial to that gingham-floral combo in that one "weathervane" block! They all look good. 🙂

Love the red and am so happy I haven't started mine yet so I can copy your red. I have been waiting for Ruby to come out to start so I'm not exactly copying you – just a bit.

I love the weather vane block on Fig tree

You have really been busy sewing. Now that I look at all the variety of blocks that you make, it reminds me that a quilt made from different blocks is just a beautiful a one made from the same pattern.
