This is the final quilt I pieced for market–“My Log Cabin” by Joanna Figueroa. The quilt was pieced using a honey bun of Joanna’s newest collection, Butterscotch & Rose which is a delightful blend of traditional Fig Tree patterns and colors. Joanna’s signature cream that comes with the collection was used for the background.
Joanna’s quilter Diana did a beautiful job on the quilting…I could hardly wait to get to market to see her work–I knew with so much cream background there would be lots of her beautiful feathers to see!
This is a fairly large quilt, 71 by 71, with three different setting options included in the pattern. I really did piece this in a weekend…mostly. I received the fabric late Thursday afternoon, but didn’t start cutting until Friday morning. I individually cut the strips and put color combinations together for each log cabin which took a lot of time Friday. I sewed until pretty late Friday night then all day and into the evening Saturday. By late Saturday night all of the log cabins were completed and pieced into the quilt center. I had to wait for a little more fabric to arrive on Monday to put the outer borders on–and then it was on it’s way back to Joanna!
Love this picture of it on Joanna’s ladder…note to self…must find a quilt ladder like this one day!
And here it is at market! The first four pictures in this post are courtesy of Joanna. You can read her post about it (and see more beautiful photos of it) on this blog post.

I LOVE that quilt and had no idea that you made it. I think that line of fabric is going to be my new fave from Fig Tree – move over Patisserie! The pattern calls for a honey bun and a charm pack but you only mentioned a honey bun. ???
I have the pattern on my TO DO list and I will be anxiously waiting for that fabric release. Beautiful work yet again Sherri and the quilting by Diana is gorgeous!
