I walked into the sewing room this morning to do a little “stunt sewing,” and this Flurry fat quarter bundle caught my eye. I’ll admit it…I have started thinking about Christmas “to do’s.” Anyway, one thought led to another…
And now it seems I’m making two of these quilts (The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt: Letters from 1920s Farm Wives and the 111 Blocks They Inspired). Same blocks as yesterday…Flurry with a little 12 Days added in for good measure.
Oh, and congratulations to Jo who won the Dewberry Lane giveaway…I’ll be sending you an e-mail!

I love the Flurry blocks!!!

You know that philosophy that says making two of the same quilt doesn't take much more time?
It's a lie!
I've fallen for it too!

Ok, you did it. You made me want to do this project. I first read about it on Quilt Dad's blog yesterday and tried really hard to resist the urge to commit. But you just pushed me over the edge. Now I just have to settle on some fabric …
Carol says
Oh those blocks are soooooooooooo much fun!
Kristen says
Here's an idea…after seeing yours yesterday I signed up for that quilt along and today I signed up for another one for the same quilt…should I make two or just post the same one on two different quilt alongs? Yours are beautiful and inspiring…might have to make 222 blocks. 🙂

I've been avoiding this book and all the cute pictures various folks have posted, but now that I see your Flurry, I'm thinking I might have to try it.

Well, I went into Hobby Lobby yesterday and saw some Christmas stuff up already. I was kinda shocked to see the fourth of July stuff, but Christmas almost knocked me over. So you are probably right on time! I have the farmers wife quilt book, it is wonderful. Someday I hope to make a quilt from it. Maybe this winter? When I have more time . . . . sure, like that's ever going to happen, more time.

Ok. Now you did it. I just had to make another Farmer's Wife. I am using all floral fabrics. My husband loves floral fabrics so I have lots of fat quarters. I am trying to do all 111 this time rather than stop at the 50 I did last time.

It is never too early to start Christmas presents. I have started a Christmas quilt last week. I love the fabrics you have chosen.
