I realize things have been a little quiet here on the blog--I've been trying to finish up gifts...keeping my Christmas tradition of sewing up until the very last possible moment.
This morning I got up a little early to do some machine quilting on this mini tumbler table topper.

The countdown to Christmas is definitely on, and I've got so many things I still want to finish! Although it might be nice to be finished early one year, it's sort of become my Christmas

You know it's time to get decorating when your teen-aged son asks when you are going to decorate. I'm not quite finished...we still need to get our tree up, but at least it's looking a little bit like Christmas here!
I finally managed to create a tiny version of Carrie's houses...and now I need to

Just a few odds and ends to share today--I still haven't heard from Lori who won the
December? Already!
The days, weeks, and months have been speeding by--here in southern Nevada our gorgeous fall turned cold and blustery almost overnight! Along with the change in the weather came the first day of December. I've always loved December 1st...seems I can really start preparing for Christmas

I've been out of town two weekends in a row visiting with family; both mini-vacations along with Thanksgiving were a lot of fun, but it sure feels great to be back home! My Grandmother (who I was able to visit on our first trip) let me take some of her family quilts

Work in Progress
Most of my "works in progress" for the next month or so will be Christmas gifts. But I have one work in progress that I keep coming back to; I've decided I want to get this finished up before the end of the month. Because I love it. And because I can't wait to see what it will
Building (And a Modern Blocks Giveaway)!
After Carrie posted this amazing pattern for a lumbar pillow made with just five house blocks from her "Full House" pattern, I had to get started making some Christmas houses! I just need to quilt this up and make it into a pillow now!
Then I felt a bit bad about not finishing my
Farming with Quilt Blocks
I have more Farmers Wife Blocks to share today! It seems like the hardest part about working on this quilt is figuring out which block to sew next--I love them all!
First up (and this is one of my favorites) is Block #39, Friendship. This block seemed destined to be made in my California Girl

Housework and Back to the Farm
I've been catching up on a little "house" work lately. Probably not the kind I should be catching up on...but these "Full House" little houses have been so much fun to make!
I have all 18 houses finished and now just need to make my patchwork borders.
And I'm still a Farmer's Wife,
Le Petite Parade…the Prizes
Just a quick post to mention that there seems to be a little something special for some of our Le Petite parade participants!
Schnibbles and Such…
Well, I'm squeezing this post in just in time...today just flew by! Anyway, today is the day for sharing some Schnibbles and Le Petite projects from the last year. I made a little collage of some of my projects above.
Then I noticed I had left out my Paganini and a few others; This one is
More Market Sewing…
This is Aneela Hoey's booth at International Quilt Market (thank you Kimberly from FatQuarterShop for the photo)! I was anxiously waiting to see a picture of this booth...
and this is why...just a couple of weeks ago I got a chance to make a fun quilt with Walk in the Woods which debuted this

Pretty
Just finished a quilt today for a friend's daughter. I love this quilt! It's got such a fun combination of fabrics, each one from a different collection I believe.
The pattern is called "Pretty in Pink," and it's from Heather Mulder Peterson's book Livin' Large. This quilt went together
Rhythm
Things have slowly but surely slowed down, and with the welcome (calmer) change of pace the familiar fall rhythm has taken over. I'm loving the cooler temperatures (especially in the evenings), and it feels good to have a plan to accomplish everything on my lists. This weekend I
Farmer’s Wife Blocks and a Giveaway
This weeks Fig Tree version Farmer's Wife blocks were made from market sewing scraps. In fact, all of the half-square triangles were cut-offs from bigger blocks, and even the flying geese were made from scraps that were pretty small!
This is the block I shared the other day--Block 26, Cut
Pretty Pictures
It's been a crazy weekend, crazy in a good way as I had a lot of fun making three market quilt tops in less than a week. I heart them all and will share them as soon as I can. So this afternoon I was blessed with that wonderful way of feeling "caught up." Just for a minute, anyway!
Multi-Tasking
Yes, there's definitely a lot of multi-tasking going on here this weekend. I just finished market quilt number two using the yummy stack of brand new Fig Tree fabrics above (finished market quilt number one on Thursday evening and have one yet to make)!
I had some little scraps from
On the Bookshelf
Quilt market is just a couple of weeks away, and that means I've been working on some market sewing this week! With not much quilty goodness I can share just yet, I thought I'd share a new to me quilting book. Quilting those Flirty '30s is one of those books that has both
Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along–More Progress!
This week I made three Farmer's Wife blocks...one for my Christmas (Flurry) set and two for my Fig Tree version. This is Block 92, Streak of Lightning. I had fun trying to get the zig zag effect with this!
For the first time in over a month I got all the blocks out and had a
Fabric on Saturday
I was hoping to do another Fabric Friday post yesterday, but it just didn't happen...so here's some fabric I'm loving on Saturday! First up is the Sandi Henderson Henna Garden fat quarter collection I was able to get from her shop. Usually I miss out on fabric finds like this one, so I
Gumdrops!
Just ran in quickly today to one of my "local" quilt shops (well, an hour away either north or south is about as local as it gets for me). To my surprise, Volume Two of American Patchwork & Quilting's Sew Scrappy Quilts for Fabric Lovers was in the shop and for sale! I've been eagerly
A Little Weekend Sewing
I didn't get to sew a lot this weekend...but I did finish up a work in progress (yay)! I've needed to finish up another Charming and Cheerful bag (my own design, published in the August 2011 American Patchwork & Quilting). This bag will be a shop sample for a little while, and then I'll

Happy October First!
Happy October first! And happy Schnibbles parade day! To start off, I just had to share one of Carrie's "Full House" quilts (photo from Carrie's blog). I am seriously in love with this quilt. It's made with her Nine Dots fabric; the quilting is absolutely stunning as well. This project
Patchwork Gift Bag Tutorial
I've
been working on some little handmade gift bags to have on hand...and I
thought today I'd share a tutorial showing how I make them. They're
super easy and can be made with just a couple of fat quarters and some 2

Last Week’s Farmer’s Wife Blocks
Last week was pretty busy, but I did manage to fit in a little time on Saturday to make my Farmer's Wife blocks. I am determined not to get behind in this quilt along, so I picked some easy blocks this week.
This is block 71, Puss in the Corner. I used some softer Fig Tree fabrics and love
