Hello, friends! Thanks so much for stopping by to read about the A Quilting Life Best Posts 2023. It is really so much fun to see what the most-read posts were for the year and to look back and think about what my favorite posts and projects were. I never let myself look at the yearly stats for post page-views until December, so it’s always a real treat to see the results. Keep reading to see the most-read posts in order along with an additional list of free pattern posts that didn’t make the top 12.

The A Quilting Life Block of the Month posts are always one of the most-read posts of the month. I love sharing these blocks and projects each year. I also want to thank everyone for all of the kind words about this year’s blocks and finishing. I’ll be sharing all of the details you need to be ready for next year’s Block of the Month next week.
2. 5 Decluttering Tips to Purge a Fabric Stash
Other than the Block of the Month posts, and direct searches for the A Quilting Life blog, this decluttering post was the most-read post of the year. I definitely will be sharing more ideas on this subject in 2024 as I’ve been doing quite a bit of this over the past month or two.
3. Simple Scrappy Quilt (Free Pattern)
This post shared a fun scrappy quilt I pieced modeled after one of my grandmother’s scrappy quilts. I loved seeing all of the versions of this show up online!
4. Scrappy Gumdrops Quilt
My Scrappy Gumdrops Quilt was a previously published quilt pattern that I published recently in PDF format. There are also tips on this post for making scrap quilts. I still feel like I need to make more of these–it would be so fun in Christmas scraps!
5. Sewing Room Ideas & Organization

8. A Guide to Setting Quilt Blocks
Often I write posts after they are requested by one of my readers. This was one of those posts, and I added in some of my best tips for the topic. If you have a subject you’d like me to write about, please feel free to email me.
9. Precut Friendly Quilt Ideas

11. Orange Peel Tutorial and Pillow (Free Pattern)
One of my quilting goals for 2023 was to make an orange peel project. I got it done with a free tutorial and pillow pattern. Now that I’m comfortable with these blocks I do plan to make more of them!
12. How to Make a Table Runner
My family knows that as soon as I get new fabric I make a table runner to see how the prints and patterns play with each other. So, it’s only natural that I wrote a post with my thoughts and tips on making table runners.
Free Pattern Posts from 2023
Along with the three posts containing a free pattern in the list above, there were a couple others you might be interested in that also share free pattern PDFs. (And watch for one more free pattern coming soon before the end of the year).
