Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 315: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a round-up of ideas for you for this weekend and the week ahead. I hope you’ll find some wonderful ideas in today’s post. Also, I recently realized that there are just three weeks left in this year–how can that be? I’m really hoping to take some good time to reflect and plan for the upcoming year tomorrow afternoon.
Saturday Seven 315: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this article with no-cost ways to lift your spirits this holiday season. Decluttering Your Soul had some terrific ideas. And this post from Gretchin Rubin on “Work Worth Doing was excellent.”
2. Recipes to Try
I’ve never made Arroz Con Pollo, but Gaby says it’s one of her favorites, so I’m definitely going to try it! This Garlic Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin looks incredible. And finally, a fun snack idea–these Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels.
3. Quilt & Sew
If you’re looking for some darling stocking patterns, my friend Kristyne has two delightful patterns you might be interested in. Her Retro Holiday Stockings are beautiful, and I also love her Something for Everyone Stocking Pattern. And Joanna Figueroa is beginning a Log Cabin Sew Along in conjunction with her new series of articles and quilts for American Patchwork & Quilting. Find all of the details here. And for a fast and easy quilt that you can make before Christmas, check out the Blueprint Sew Along here.
4. Saturday Sewcial Ornament Party
I’m super excited to share that a few Moda Designers: Me, Corey Yoder, Joanna Figueroa, Robin Pickens, and Heather Briggs are sharing a Saturday Sewcial YouTube event today with an ornament theme. Stop by each of our YouTube channels today after 9 a.m. EST for holiday inspiration galore! I’ll be sharing lots of fun handmade ornament ideas AND sharing a free table runner and lap quilt pattern PDF (pictured below). If you want to grab the pattern PDF here, click on the button below.
5. Book + Podcast Recommendations
I recently listened to this Adam Grant podcast with Brene’ Brown and found it fascinating and so educational. I’ve also recently purchased some beautiful children’s books to have for the grands this season. I heard about Olive, the Other Reindeer at quilt market. And I purchased Feeling Grateful and Maybe on our Thanksgiving trip–while they are both children’s books, they would make lovely gifts for anyone of any age.
6. Simple Folded Corners Ruler Tutorial
I recently shared a much-requested tutorial on the Simple Folded Corners and Mini Simple Folded Corners ruler on our YouTube channel. I’ve also added the tutorial here in case you haven’t seen it yet. In the video I share my three favorite ways to use these versatile rulers.

Thank you for all your inspiration and all that you put into your podcasts. I’m sure it’s a lot of work and extra effort to put these things together for us to enjoy. Just know that is greatly appreciated. Thank you for everything you do and for the table runner pattern. Hope you and yours have a very merry and blessed Christmas!

Thanks for the free pattern. I’ve been participating in your monthly b.o.m. , but I didn’t get the Nov. 5 e-mail for finishing the Starlight Sparkler. I was expecting it in December until I reread the information provided at the start of the stitch along. I can’t locate the information. Would you kindly provided it soon? I’d really appreciate it because I have every pattern/month except the one referenced. Thanks!
