Scrap Quilting Tips + Scrappy Gumdrops Quilt
Scrappy Gumdrops Quilt Details
I made my Scrappy Gumdrops quilt back in 2013 and 2014, and it was published by American Patchwork & Quilting. It uses a variety of scraps from my favorite fabrics at the time and also features a scrappy binding. It finishes at 45 ½″ x 59″ and has a fun setting arrangement that creates the sashing and the inner border.

Any idea which issue Gumdrops was published in? I’m sure that I still have the magazine.

love your gumdrop scrappy quilt … I’m going to start using up my scraps to make this quilt. it will be a good go-to quilt to make a few of these quilts, to use up my scraps. Every quilt would look different by using up different coloured fabric scraps for each quilt. Heads up to all my friends: “you will all be getting one of these scrappy gumdrops quilts” LOL. I love it! I sometimes get frustrated trying to decide which quilt patterns to use; so this gumdrops quilt makes it easy. I love quilting, but the toughest part is choosing fabrics and patterns. From now on i can just make scrappy quilts. Thanks so much for your tips! You have great ideas!

Is muslin still being used in quilting? I have a bunch that would work instead of white that ties all the blocks together.
