Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing Fall Quilts + Projects on My Sewing Table in September 2024. It seems that most everything I’m working on right now (other than some quilt market prep projects) is a fall-themed project. Keep reading for some fun fall inspiration and a video sharing of my current fall projects!

Fall Quilts + Projects on My Sewing Table September 2024
Flying Geese Block Pillow in Bountiful Blooms
My first finish this month was something I’ve been wanting to make for some time. I finished up a flying geese block pillow in our Bountiful Blooms fabrics and absolutely love it. This project was inspired by a little Flying Geese Mini I made a few years ago (which would also make a darling small pillow). Find details for the 18″ x 18″ Flying Geese pillow top and the Mini Flying Geese project below.
Fall Patchwork Placemats
Another project I’ve been wanting to make for quite some time and finally got finished up is a set of fall patchwork placemats, also in our Bountiful Blooms collection with a couple of add-ins. I’m super excited to be able to use these on our table along with a favorite Bountiful Blooms table runner. I have a PDF pattern available now for the placemats, and there is also an option to substitute the pumpkin block with a leaf block!
Scrappy Fall Sampler Quilt
Another current project I’m working on right now is also a bucket list quilt: a fall fabrics king-sized quilt for my room! I’ve been wanting to make a quilt for our bed in Bountiful Blooms since we first started sewing with this collection, and it’s finally getting close to the finish line. When you think about a project for a couple of years you definitely know the right one when it occurs to you, lol!
I was going over works in progress projects a couple of weeks ago and found some blocks I’d made in Bountiful Blooms for Chelsi’s All-American pattern sew along earlier this year. Right then I realized I could use those blocks with the Moda Blockheads 5 setting I did and easily have a king-sized fall quilt in a couple of weeks. All that I needed to do was make 56 small blocks to set in pairs. I decided to make 28 churn dash blocks and 28 star blocks. I also had to make a few large churn dash blocks to have the correct number. All that’s left is finishing the star blocks and I can start putting this together!

Sherri,
I really like your patchwork pumpkin placemats. They are so cute. What line of fabric did you use?
Keep up the great job you, Chelsi and Billy are doing.. You make quilting look easy and fun. You do so much for the quilting community.

Good morning Sherri!
The link to your free PDF for the Large Flying Geese Pillow Top does not appear to be working. All other links on this page seem OK. Thank you for checking into it.

Just fixed that. The link now goes to the free pillow patterns page where you can find that large flying geese PDF. Thank you for letting me know!
