Made in September 2024
I actually got a little more sewing done in September than I thought I would. I’ve made really great progress on my king-size quilt using Bountiful Blooms. I also finished up my Pumpkin & Vine wall hanging and table runner, and I’ve been able to start several patchwork quilted bags of various sizes. Next month it will be all about finishing the king-size quilt, the quilted bags, and quilt market preparation.
5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
It’s always so much fun to think about the things I’m really appreciating during the season. Here is what I’m appreciating now:
- Traveling and teaching! I had such an amazing time at the Garden of Quilts event this year. Then I was home for just a couple of days and was blessed to be able to spend some quality time sewing while my husband got to do quite a bit of fishing–grateful for friends!
- Our brand new Sew Charming Dresden Enamel Charms are even cuter in real life than when we were designing them. Now that they are here I just want to make a bunch of bags so I can add the charms to the zippers!
- Cuticle Oil–I may have shared this before but have to share it again as it has really been a game changer for me and my nail health. As quilters we are quite hard on our nails. Since I’ve been applying this every night I’ve noticed a dramatic increase in my nail and cuticle health.
- Small Storage Boxes–I just ordered a ten-pack of these boxes to keep track of smaller items in my sewing room. One of my friends brought some to Garden of Quilts, and I immediately ordered a pack–really happy with how they are helping me keep those smaller items organized.
- Also, while I love my yearly planner, this undated planner is perfect for keeping track of everything on busy days–I have mine in my kitchen and have loved writing notes in it instead of on random pieces of paper that are hard to keep track of.
October is looking to be a busy month as well, but I’m determined to also get a lot of sewing one during the first three weeks of the month. Stay tuned!

I’d love to know specifically what you like to store in the small storage boxes?

Right now I have decorative quilt labels in one, hexagon papers in another, alphabitties for labeling quilt block pieces in a third…I have also added labels to them with my label maker and think I’ll have a few more filled and labeled this weekend!

I too ordered the storage boxes. My sewing table is pretty chaotic. I also ordered the folded corner ruler you had mentioned a while back and it has made such a difference in my accuracy. I am also making the Moda pattern for the Jelly Roll Day that you chose. I am also a proud owner of a Strawberry Lemonade threadcatcher from Curry Bungalow. She said she was overwhelmed with inquiries and orders for a while.

Love the solar oil, but did you know it comes in a pen? Search solar oil pen on Amazon and it pops up. Less mess and very portable! 🩷
