Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing my A Quilting Life Favorites August 2024 post with all of the top posts, recent finishes, and things that got me through the month. (It was our hottest summer on record and I’m not a big fan of the 110+ temps or the 70+ days where our low didn’t get below 80). Anyway, this post is full of things that make me happy…enjoy!

Sewn in August
Some of my August sewing has been a little bit “behind the scenes.” For example, I’ve finished up all of my 2024 BOM blocks and am working on getting them set together as soon as we film the last two block videos. My biggest finish for August was finishing up my Heart of the Home wall hanging in our Laguna Sunrise fabrics. Also, the pattern is now available in booklet and PDF format in my shop under its new name, Summer House.
5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
Here are some of the things I’m loving right now and that have helped me get through our hottest summer on record, lol!
- My Mid-Year Review + Creative Reset–after doing a lot of sewing I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed with what to sew next. My summer reset was just what I needed. It gave me a combination of organizing and fun sewing that got me back on track and ready to sew for fall! Find all of the details here.
- It’s crazy how a flat plug power strip can make life so much easier. We now have three of these in our home and love the ease and versatility of being able to charge devices without worrying about matching cords and plugs! (And it’s going to be great for travel, too).
- My 10th Anniversary copy of Essentialism just arrived the other day. This book has definitely been one of those “life changing” books. I’m looking forward to reading it again and taking the 21-day challenge now included.
- A refresh in my sewing room. I’ll be posting all about this soon, but for now there is a sneak peek photo gallery above.
- Finally getting to have our friend and mentor and marketing director Lissa Alexander on the podcast. It was absolutely my favorite episode to date!
September Preview + More
Stay tuned for more fun in September. I’m currently working on finishing a lot of works in progress. (Of course I’ve also started some new works in progress, lol)! Finally, thanks so much for stopping by to read my A Quilting Life Favorites August 2024 post. If you’re looking for more of my favorites from previous months, you can find all of the earlier posts in this series here.
Happy quilting!
