Quilt Works in Progress August 2024

Hello, friends! Today I’m super excited to share my Quilt Works in Progress August 2024 edition! I haven’t shared a true works in progress post since May because I’ve been doing so much sewing with our Raspberry Summer group that couldn’t be shown until mid-July. But I’ve finally been able to finish (and start) some fun new things to share. Keep reading for all of the details on my mid-summer sewing!

Raspberry Summer Sewing

I’ve had a ton of fun sewing so many things in our Raspberry Summer collection. Most of those projects have already been shared here on the blog and on our YouTube channel throughout the summer. So, today’s post focuses on the other sewing I’ve done over the past couple of months.

Blockheads 5 Quilt Finish

My Blockheads 5 Quilt Finish was undoubtedly my biggest finish since completing my Raspberry Summer collection sewing (more to come with that, though)! I recently shared a blog post all about the finishing of that quilt with photos and a free PDF for my setting.

Heart of the Home Quilt Finish

I finished my second Heart of the Home quilt–a fun wall hanging version in our Laguna Sunrise fabric collection. (My original full-size quilt was originally published in American Patchwork & Quilting and was the cover quilt for the February 2024 issue). Scrappy Half-Square Triangle Quilt Finish

Another recent finish was the finishing of my Scrappy Half-Square Triangle quilt. This was a project I began in April using left-over half-square triangles from Strawberry Lemonade, Laguna Sunrise, and some earlier collections. I really didn’t have to make that many new half-square triangles to finish this up. And I also pieced setting blocks with our Raspberry Summer collection to make this quilt even larger. Links to the free block archives, the finishing PDF I used, and a pattern option in my shop with two additional settings are below:

• Block Archives (to download free PDFs of each half-square triangle block setting.
• Free finishing PDF for my finish shown above with 2″ finished half-square triangles (scroll to the bottom of the post).
• PDF or Booklet Pattern option with all of the block layouts and setting options for blocks in two sizes (2″ and 3″ finished).

Small Projects + Ongoing

I’m getting ready to start some new projects for our Quilt Market booth in October. And I’m also working on finishing up the 2024 Block of the Month quilt. Some other small projects I’ve been working on and shared in today’s video are the following:
