Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 354: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a roundup of fun things I’ve found around the internet this week. Keep reading for ideas to jumpstart your weekend and the week ahead.
This weekend is a busy one. Along with some fun family events I’m hoping to get some sewing done on a new pattern for fall. I’ve also been doing a lot of organizing and hope to spend at least a few hours doing home de-cluttering tasks. After that, I’m hoping to do a little reading if there is extra time. It’s still too hot to go outside, but we are hoping to be done with the high heat warnings after this weekend. Enjoy today’s post!

Saturday Seven 354: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I’ve been trying to have a weekly “self-care” theme or task, and this week’s is a good one. I loved this post on “8 Ways to Stop Getting Distracted.” After reading the article I realized that using the techniques described to minimize distractions is a wonderful form of self-care.
2. Recipes to Try
This Dipping Oil for bread looks amazing! And I’m super happy I can finally try this Cucumber Feta Orzo Pasta Salad I saw on Instagram recently. Also this Apple Pie Filling recipe has me ready to make an apple pie!
3. Quilt + Sew
First, if you are a newsletter subscriber you found out over the weekend that my Jelly Roll Sampler is this month’s $5 pattern. This is in honor of National Sew a Jelly Roll Day coming later this month. Next, while cleaning and organizing in the studio, I found some older Sherri & Chelsi + Moda precuts. Find them in the shop here. Finally, if you haven’t already pre-ordered your Fat Quarter Shop Spooky Box, be sure to do so now. This limited-edition box sells out each year and contains Halloween-themed fabric, notion, and pattern–shipping at the end of September.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
This week I loved the Cal Newport episode on Weekly Templates–so useful, and I’m going to start incorporating these ideas into my weekly planning sessions. I also loved Sarah Hart-Unger’s episode on How to Build More Intentionality into Your Life.
5. Favorites on Amazon
I can’t say enough about this new pillow I got during the Prime Days sale. I’ve never had a pillow so perfect (I’m a side sleeper). I love this pillow so much that I’m thinking of ordering the travel size version as well. And I have also loved these Clean Skin Club Facial Cloths and just put in my first re-order (you can subscribe to save, too). I use them just in the evenings to make sure my face is absolutely clean before applying evening moisturizer. And this hand soap is what I have in the kitchen and my bathroom right now (I love that I was able to bundle and save on the refills).
6. New Medallion Quilt + Video
When Chelsi and I were working on pattern design for our Raspberry Summer collection, I mentioned to Chelsi that I thought she should do a medallion quilt. She had never done one before, and I knew she would design something super fun. The result is her new Sweet Adventure quilt. You can watch her video about this quilt above or watch her video on our YouTube channel.

Thank you every Sat morning I look forward to your Quilting life / This week`s take care of yourself was just what I needed to get back on track and reminded me of what I learned at work years ago. We took focus and relaxation courses that our company provided and they work.
