Saturday Seven 356: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I try not to complain…but when I do it’s almost never useful. So, I loved this piece on Transforming Our Complaints into Something Generative. And I loved this piece: “September Reset: Why Now is the New January.” I always feel like I get really organized in the fall.
2. Recipes to Try
I saw this new Easy Tortilla Egg Bake recipe on Instagram while I was traveling last week and immediately bookmarked it to make. I’m always looking for quick and easy breakfast (or breakfast for dinner ideas). And I really want to try these Mediterranean Beef Bowls for a quick and easy weeknight dinner. I’ve also got this Grilled Steak Salad with Caramelized Onions on my list of new dishes to try. And finally…I have to make these Perfect Mini Cheesecakes very soon–Yum!
3. Quilt + Sew
The biggest news this week in regard to Quilting and Sewing is that our Family Favorites book is now available. My copies arrived while I was out of town last week, and I could hardly wait to arrive home and hold them in my hands! I have loved every book I’ve been able to publish, but this one is extra special because we were able to be so involved in the process from start to finish (including the amazing photo shoot day for the book). I have a limited number of autographed copies in the shop here. And you are also able to find it directly from Fat Quarter Shop here. Finally, find all of the details on the Moonbeams Charity Quilt Raffle here.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
It’s been a busy week with teaching at the Garden of Quilts last week and catching up on all of the things when I got home. But next in my podcast cue is Sarah’s interview with Kendra Adachi about her upcoming book The Plan. I have The Plan on pre-order and can’t wait for it to arrive early next month.
5. New and Notable with A Quilting Life
On Thursday I shared a new video featuring some of the new things I’m working on right now. I shared a little bit about ideas for Jelly Rolls and also shared details about our upcoming sew along with Fat Quarter Shop for the Brightly quilt in our Family Traditions book. You’ll also see some new notions I purchased after seeing students with them in my classes.
