Hello, friends, and happy Saturday! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 241: Lifestyle & Inspiration for Quilters post with fun things I’ve found from all around the internet (and more)! I hope you’ll enjoy these ideas and that they will inspire your weekend and the week ahead. We have high heat in our forecast, so I’ll definitely be in the sewing room this weekend. I’m excited to start a new project, too! I hope you get to spend some time sewing as well.
Saturday Seven 241: Lifestyle & Inspiration for Quilters
1. Self-Care
This short post on “The Value of Lightness in Heavy Times” is simple but so helpful! Working on a 10-Day Challenge can also have enormously positive mental health benefits. (Your challenge doesn’t have to relate to sewing). And finally–some wonderful benefits of saying “no.”
2. Cook
I love a good chicken salad so can’t wait to try this Rotisserie Chicken Salad. I’m also making these Grilled Chicken Rice Bowls soon–mix and match your favorite add-ins! Another great chicken option is these Chicken Fajita Tortilla Bowls. And this Carne Asada looks so good! Finally, when you want to make Just Two Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies.
3. Quilt & Sew
First up–my $5 pattern for the month of July is Sugar Pine Stars–perfect in any combination of fabrics! Lisa’s Mystery “Oh Say Can You Sew” project is moving along–find instructions for the fourth set of blocks here. Elizabeth is sharing monthly free New York Beauty Block Patterns (foundation paper-pieced). This Easy Kitchen Towel Apron would be a great project for a young person (and a great gift idea as well). And finally, this tutorial for a cooling bandana for dogs–such a great idea.
4. Christmas in July
First, I just ordered these printed panels to make some cute advent calendars. And if you’re looking for some simple Christmas sewing to begin now, this round-up will give you some fun ideas. Finally, watch for some fun Christmas in July ideas coming here soon!
5. Recent Finds
We have been enjoying our air fryer this summer (cooking without using the oven is a must with our current temperatures). So, I was excited to find pre-cut parchment paper for the air fryer–makes cleaning up so much easier! I am also loving this Expandable Flatware Organizer (which is also terrific for sewing notions). My favorite chip bag clips–I have the aqua set and just ordered these blue ones. Finally, these Corner Cabinet Organizers are great for the kitchen, pantry, and even bathroom.
6. Productivity
First–this post with “3 Questions to Create Your Life” was so good! I also loved this post on “How to Tackle a Mountain of Tasks.” And this post and podcast have so many wonderful ideas for a Mid-Year Review.
