Happy Saturday, friends! Today I’m sharing my Saturday Seven 351: Lifestyle & More for Quilters which features fun and inspiring ideas from around the internet. I hope you’ll find some ideas for your weekend and the week ahead.
I’m staying upstairs in my sewing room as much as I can this weekend. We’re in the middle of another home renovation project here–turns out our broken fireplace required a new unit…and hence new stonework. You probably know how it goes once you start what you think is a simple project. I am grateful we are able to fix it and will love being a bit warmer this winter in our family room! (The fireplace hasn’t worked for a few years).

Saturday Seven 351: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
This article on how the writer celebrated her 70th birthday gave me some wonderful ideas for self-care on a smaller scale. While I don’t have a birthday ending in a zero for a few more years, I might try something like she did (with a few stipulations). But I also want to think about how I can implement this idea now…even if I just come up with a list of activities for the year and schedule them out. I also loved this piece on Living a Simple Life…so much food for thought!
2. Recipes to Try
We just tried this Perfect Carne Asada and had it for dinner Thursday night with leftovers on Friday–10 out of 10 stars! The marinade was easy to make and was the perfect complement to the meat. I made Pico de Gayo to go with it, and we served it with corn tortillas and some homemade Spanish Rice. This weekend I’m going to try these Lemon Blueberry Buttermilk Sheet Pan Pancakes which were highly recommended. (I love that you can freeze the leftovers)!
3. Quilt + Sew
Moda fabrics just shared another video I filmed while in Dallas this summer. This video shares all about our Raspberry Summer fabrics. The lighting and the editing are beautiful–I love Annie’s work. Go here to watch. And then be sure to stop by my friend Elizabeth’s blog today to download her free Quilt Care Printable. She’s designed a lovely four-to-a-page quilt care instructions card that you can download and print on cardstock–perfect for adding to your gifted quilts!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
Earlier this year I started reading Peak Mind and then set it aside when something else moved to the top of my list. I’m now finishing it up and have really enjoyed the author’s ability to explain concepts and give practical helps for increasing one’s focus and attention.
5. Home + More
I loved this post with 5 Tips When Decluttering Sentimental Items. I especially liked idea four–to have a system you can come back to easily. Making a plan for this is now on my to-do list. We’ve been trying to eat healthier, and I just ordered this lidded charcuterie tray to make our healthy snacking easier–plus, it’s gorgeous!
6. Anthem Quilt in Raspberry Summer Fabrics
Chelsi just shared a new video this week with her new Anthem quilt pattern released with our Raspberry Summer fabrics. She has a couple of fun options for this pattern to share in the video. If you notice her quilt isn’t bound yet…it’s because I’m binding it this weekend! Watch the video above or on our YouTube channel.
