Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I’m really excited to share some fun scrappy quilts with you that my daughter Chelsi pieced a little while ago. She sent them all off to be quilted and just recently got them back (I was lucky enough to be at her house when the UPS driver arrived with them–it was so much fun opening that box)! They were sure beautiful before quilting, but now they are even more beautiful!
Scrappy Watermelon Quilt
First up is her delightful scrappy watermelon quilt. She used a fun variety offabrics from different Fig Tree collections and from our Bright Sun, Desert Bloom and Creekside collections. The mix is just so fun! You might notice she has her binding made and machine sewn but not stitched down to the back yet.
Her quilter did a simple all over pattern so the fabrics really shine! You can find the pattern for this quilt in the Fig Tree booklet Sherbet and Creams. This one has just moved up to the top of my must-make list for summer!
Scrappy Spring Log Cabin
Chelsi also made a beautiful scrappy log cabin quilt using my simple scrappy log cabin tutorial. Her fabrics are all from the Moda Essentially Yours Basics collection which is a fun group of dots, stripes, and gingham checks in a variety of colors!
I love this quilting pattern with the rainbows and hearts! It was also the perfect pattern for this quilt pattern. I think there are just enough of the black fabrics combined with the black sashing posts to really make this quilt stand out!
Here is a picture of both quilts together in her girls’ room! So cute! She’ll have to finish stitching the bindings before they can stay here, but they sure look cute for now!
Baby, Baby Quilt
The final quilt she got back is my Baby, Baby quilt design (available in paper and PDF) pieced with our The Front Porch fabrics! This pattern really is perfect for a fast and fun baby quilt and looks wonderful in every fabric combination I’ve seen it in!
I love how the low-volume prints from our The Front Porch collection add so much fun texture when used as background fabrics in quilts! These quilts are all fabulous…I’m definitely in the mood for some spring sewing now!
I had another post sharing more spring quilts last week…be sure to stop by and read it if you missed it!
Happy quilting, and thanks so much for stopping by!
