Hello and happy Wednesday! I’ve finally started transitioning my home to have more of a spring feel (True story: until last Saturday I still had Christmas quilts on my entryway ladder and on two walls)! I love getting out the Spring Quilts and using them to decorate…the four on my entryway ladder are a few of my favorites.
Spring Quilts on the Ladder
The top quilt features Meadowsweet fabrics by Sandi
The top quilHenderson; I made it in 2010 and used the “Modern Day Diamonds” pattern by Heather Mulder Peterson from her book Livin’ Large. This quilt has always been a favorite of mine! The second quilt from the top features a large assortment of Moda candy with a fun aqua dot for the alternate 9-patch blocks. The pattern is mine and is found in the book Moda All-Stars – Scraps Made Simple: 15 Sensationally Scrappy Quilts from Precuts. The third quilt: “Stars over Iowa” uses Amy Butler fabrics with the pattern found in my book Fresh Family Traditions. And the bottom is Gumdrops– a favorite scrap quilt I had published in an American Patchwork & Quilting scrappy quilt publication a few years back! (Now find
Spring Wall Hanging
My “Happy Days” quilt is now in my front entryway right across from the quilt ladder. I love walking by this quilt with its happy designs and fabrics (fabrics are all from our Creekside collection).
Spring Table Runner
And I finally got my dining table cleared off so I could place my new spring table runner on it (it was doing double-duty as a fabric station while I was working on all of the new quilt sewing).
I decorate our formal living room a lot for Christmas, so during the rest of the year I keep things pretty simple in there. I did add a pillow made with The Front Porch mini charms and my “Patchwork Garden” quilt pieced with Creekside fabrics to the mix the other day.
When I finish up with the spring decor in our family room, I’ll share some photos…I have another quilt ladder in that room that is still sporting decidedly winter-style quilts!
Along with decorating I did some re-folding and organizing of our fabric collections last weekend. I got the idea to fold the pieces like this from my daughter –they are so much easier to access and to put back after use when folded this way. Plus, I like arranging the fabrics by color within each collection! What I should probably do is mix up the collections and arrange everything by color! The top shelf of this bookcase has our new fabric all stacked up like this as well…but I’ll have to wait just a little longer to share that!
I’m working on a couple quilts this week with our new fabrics. one for a book and one for a magazine…and then at the end of next week I’ll finally get to start sharing the new fabric and quilts!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

So many pretty things in this post…from the quilts to the gorgeous stacks of fabric (that totally make me jealous!). Patchwork Garden is still my favourite.

Love all the quilts in your house but of course the thing I wanna see now the most is a picture of your top shelf;-)
