Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Half Square Triangle Scrap Quilt Blocks 10 + 11 with my block photos and coloring and the download link for the free PDF of this week’s block layouts. Keep reading for all of the details!
Half Square Triangle Scrap Quilt Blocks 10 + 11
Block 10 + 11 Details
Block 10 appears as diagonal stripes created by turning the half square triangle units so that the light portions touch top to bottom and the dark portions touch side to side. My block has quite a few low-volume prints which add a lot of extra interest to the block.
Block 11 has two different outer corner accents (these could all be the same color or scrappy) and then a “pinwheel” effect created by using three different hst’s from four different colors. I love this one! Find the free PDF layout for this week’s block below. Or you can also purchase the pattern for all of the blocks and the setting instructions.
How to Sew Along
Sewing along is simple! I won’t be sharing any more videos until my quilt is finished up, but I’ll be sharing the block designs here weekly on Fridays after this week. This week you can download the images for blocks 6 + 7. I’ll share two blocks per week each Friday until the final set of blocks are shared on Friday, June 20th! While the block layout patterns are free and can be downloaded here each week, there is also an option to purchase the full pattern now with block and quilt construction details and two different layout options.

Tips for Half Square Triangles
- Make half-square triangles my favorite way by sizing up and trimming to your desired size.
- Use half-square triangle paper in your preferred size to make several identical half square triangles at a time.
- Use project left-overs as I’ve done in sewing triangles together from other projects and then trim as needed.
If your scrap bin is overflowing, I hope you’ll join in! I am making my blocks using 2″ finished half-square triangles, and I might end up doing an original setting with them…we’ll see how it goes!
Be sure to visit here next Friday where I’ll share blocks 12 and 13. Happy quilting!

Hi Sherry,
I have been looking for this month BOM 2024 to continue with the BOM from January 2024. Have you posted it yet. If so, where can I find it?
Thanks. Your avid fan, Christine
