A Quilting Life Favorites January 2025
Most Read Posts
I had fun looking at the analytics for the most-read posts this month. It really does help me in planning content for the upcoming months. Here are the top five January posts (by the numbers):
- A Quilting Life Block of the Month January 2025
- Free Small Quilt Projects
- My 2025 Scrap Quilting Plans
- Planning and Organizing for Quilters (with free printable)
- Quilt Patterns for Precuts
Made in January
I actually did a lot of sewing in January but don’t have a lot to show for it just yet (you’ll have to wait until the end of February to see what I’ve been working with). I’ve made three quilts and some smaller projects with an upcoming fabric collection. I just have two quilts to bind and then I’ll be ready to share those projects in February and March.
I also finished up the Fat Quarter Shop Little Loves Wall Hanging, using my Raspberry Summer fabrics for the quilt top and a scrappy binding with a mix of Strawberry Lemonade, Laguna Sunrise, and Raspberry Summer fabrics.
And finally, I also finished a fun lap quilt using the Denim & Daisies 9-Patch Cheater fabric on blue. (The Cheater print sold out pretty quickly, but any of the Denim & Daisies blue prints would work with the Fireside backing). This 60″ wide fabric is perfect for backing, but I used if for my quilt top and used the cozy Moda Fireside for the backing. (See the photo below for the backing). Fireside is a plush fabric similar to Minky.
5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
Here are the five things I’m really loving right now–a couple of them are books as my reading year has gotten off to a great start!
- Tidy Up Your Life by Tyler Moore (aka Tidy Dad) is a fun organizing book that I have loved being able to relate to cleaning and organizing in my studio. I especially love his decluttering calendar–I’ve made my own for my sewing room.
- These extra deep containers are perfect for storing fat quarters or quilting projects that need more space than a smaller storage box.
- Same as Ever: A Guide to What Never Changes by Morgan Housel is another favorite read from this month. I love the anecdotes and stories from history used to illustrate the author’s points. It’s a quick and fun and educational.
- I’ve been loving this new-to-me granola with plain Greek yogurt and fruit.
- And finally, one of my favorite soup recipes recently got an edit. I tried it and loved the addition of the smoked paprika! It’s perfect for a cold winter night.
Thanks so much for stopping by to read the A Quilting Life Favorites January 2025 post. If you’re looking for more of my favorites posts inspiration, you can find my previous posts in this series here.

I’ve made the creamy corn chowder for years. I had to get out my wrinkly and stained recipe to make the update with the smoked paprika!
Always enjoy seeing a new post or video; keep up the good work.
