Hullabaloo by the Urban Chiks is a Moda line I’ve been anxiously waiting to see in person after seeing some limited pictures of it from fall market. The fabric says “inspired by children–” and it could be used for children’s quilts and accessories; however, I find the line to be fresh, modern, and perfect for both modern projects and traditional ones with a touch of whimsy.
The line is very versatile with prints ranging from those that seem to fit in with the earlier Chiks lines Sweet and Swell to those prints that seem like they might fit in with their earlier line, 1974. Anyway…I love each print. I’ll have to put on my thinking cap and figure out what I want to make with this amazing fabric!
Not much sewing this weekend–I finished up a couple of projects for a friend and treated myself to nearly a whole day of cutting out projects I’ve been wanting/needing to start. I finally have everything for my “Picnic” quilt cut and ready to chain-piece. This quilt should finish up pretty quickly. I also cut out everything for “Eventide” and should be able to make good progress on that quilt soon!
The only actual “used” fabric (of mine) this week was the ½ yard for binding for my It’s a Hoot mini “Wild Thing” quilt–it’s fun to have it hanging in my sewing room (number one project this summer is to paint the sewing room so that the paint doesn’t “clash” with the quilts I’ve got hanging in there).
So…in for the week was one layer cake at 3 ⅛ yards bringing my year-to-date in to 81 ¼ yards; since I only used ½ yard this week my year-to-date used is just 58 yards, leaving me with a 23 ¼ yard balance. (I’m linking up here with my stash reports).
Hope you have a wonderful weekend…see you soon!

Your "Wild Thing" quilt, with the white and swirls is really great! It looks fabulous hanging there, even without a wall color change. Great color choices!

Would you mind sharing – in the bottom photo, what is the pattern for the quilt hanging on the left (that we only see part of)? It looks like the perfect pattern for the baby quilt I'm trying to plan. Thanks!

I like urban chicks new line. Your wild thing quilt is really pretty. I have to quilt mine and I hated making the blocks (very attention span lacking for me).
