Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing Moda Blockheads 5 Block 30 (the last block in the series) along with a finishing update on my quilt. My quilt is actually all finished up and on the longarm today. And I have to say I’m a little bit sad this sew along is coming to an end. I sure will love spending some time hand-stitching my binding later this week and remembering all of the blocks. Keep reading for all of the details for this week plus a look at my finished quilt top (before quilting).
Moda Blockheads 5 Block 30 + Finishing Update
Block 30 Details
This week’s block is the Shadow Star by Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles Quilters (Lynne was one of the original Blockheads members)! This was a super fun block to put together. I especially love my 6″ finished block with the tone-on-tone background. I feel like it really emphasizes the two coral prints. But I also loved using the floral on light with the red and aqua for my larger block. Love them both. I did size up my fabrics and use the Bloc Loc Flying Geese rulers for all of the flying geese in these blocks.

What’s Next
Next week my plan is to be able to share my finished quilt along with all of the details for my setting. The quilt is at the quilters, and I’m going to have my binding made and ready to go before I pick up the quilt. Then I’ll get it bound and photographed…it’s a large quilt, so hopefully I can get it all done.

your sneak peak of your finished top looks fabulous. You are so clever. And I see you used your new Dresden fabric to augment the 6″ squares, but also gives a nice continuity. I bet the hexie print from could also be used. And I am one of the lucky ones who bought some!
