Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 459: Lifestyle & More for Quilters with a variety of inspiration I’ve found from around the internet this week. I’m planning on my usual weekend routine at home with a little bit of cleaning and organizing, and a good amount of sewing! I’ve got a stack of project boards with a variety of blocks I need to get sewn for some upcoming projects. And I might even be able to sneak in a new fall decor project as well. We’ll see!
Also…on my mind as I finish today’s post is that we just passed the 25th anniversary of 9-11. I can hardly believe it’s been that many years since–I also still remember being glued to our television for days on end trying to process what had happened. This is a somber anniversary for sure, and I want to pay tribute to those who lost their lives that day, and to their families and friends.

Saturday Seven 459: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this article with all of the reasons to Stop Feeling Guilty for Not Being Productive. I also loved this reminder that September is such a great time to begin again. I almost feel like I do my best resetting at the beginning of fall (maybe it’s all of those years as a student/teacher).
2. Recipes to Try
This Sheet Pan Shrimp with Corn and Tomatoes looks amazing. I haven’t tried it yet, but it was recommended by Nicole, and she always has great recipes and general tips and ideas to share (not food related, but if you’re looking for a quilting blog with lots of recipes, home ideas and more–I highly recommend reading hers). Also, here is a great roundup of Soups, Stews, and Chilis.

3. Quilt + Sew: National Sew A Jelly Roll Day
National Sew A Jelly Roll Day is one week from today on September 19th! Fat Quarter Shop is supporting the cause with Jelly Roll Friendly patterns on sale this month–find them here! I also have some terrific Jelly Roll sewing resources you can find here:
- 10 Tips for Sewing with Jelly Rolls
- Tips for Pressing Quilt Strip Sets
- How to Use Jelly Roll Strips for Quilting

4. Book + Podcast Inspiration
I’m flying through my most recent fiction love: The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (many of the volumes are free if you have Kindle Unlimited–but you’re going to want the paper copies as well) and am almost finished with Volume 4! I’m also starting this book on creativity (recommended by a good friend who always gets it right with these types of books) and waiting for this book on homemaking!

5. Shop Update
I’ve just added some brand-new 5-yard backings to the shop! You’ll also find some new additions in the fabric section of the shop.
6. New Collection Release!
We are so very excited to be sharing a new fabric collection with you at the end of this month. Watch for our fabric video on Friday, September 25th here on the blog and also on our YouTube channel. We will also have some terrific new patterns available with this collection. Also, did you know you can see all of our previous fabric collections and find details on their coordinating Bella Solids right here?
