Hello, friends! Today is the first day of International Quilt Market, and I’m in Houston Texas for all of the fun. I’ll definitely be sharing all about it with you when I return. Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 361: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a round-up of inspiration and ideas I’ve found around the internet this week. Enjoy!

Saturday Seven 361: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
The ideas in “The Practice of Examining Our Beliefs” are a perfect starting point for a weekly journal entry or self-care practice. And I know those of you reading already know this…but quilting and sewing are such wonderful self-care activities–make sure you spend time sewing this weekend 🙂
2. Recipes to Try
This fun twist on scalloped potatoes is made in the slow cooker (there is baked version, too). And this Fall Chicken and Wild Rice Soup looks amazing! Not sure if I’ve shared this one before, but these Stuffed Sweet Peppers are such a great recipe–and a family favorite of ours. They are perfect as a breakfast side or as an appetizer for a fall get-together or dinner.
3. Quilt + Sew
I LOVED this recent post by my friend Lissa about the allure of and the process of getting ready for Quilt Market. (She is the Marketing Director for Moda Fabrics, and thus definitely the one to hear from on this topic–even her title is perfect: “In Progress”). And I loved seeing the full reveal of Emily’s darling craft room/barn. Finally, there is just something about vintage sheets–I love these Vintage Sheet Pillow Projects!
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
I loved this episode with Cal Newport and Oliver Burkeman (last Saturday I shared how much I enjoyed Burkeman’s recent book, Meditations for Mortals). And I also enjoyed Cal’s most recent episode on “strategic procrastination.” I’m also loving Time Warrior, an organizing/time management book recommended by Oliver Burkeman.
5. International Quilt Market
If you’re looking for more information about why so many in the quilting industry are attending International Quilt Market this weekend, you’ll find the following posts helpful. Additionally, I’ll be sharing one to two posts about this year’s market when I return, so stay tuned for that!
6. Office Organizing
You might be surprised to learn that I spend more time in my office than my sewing room. I wish it were the other way around, but such is life, I guess. I spent a lot of time organizing my sewing room this summer, and now that it’s fall it’s time to work on my office. This article on “How to Create a Clutter-Free Home Office” was very helpful as was “The Secret to Effective Decluttering”–turns out that for me it’s best to do a little each day! And I’ve also been loving this Desktop Weekly Calendar for notes that don’t go in my regular planner. Plus, it’s so pretty on my desk!
