Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 335: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a round-up of interesting things I’ve found from around the internet this week. I hope you’ll find some inspiration from these ideas for your weekend and the week ahead. I’ll be in my sewing room this weekend working on projects I won’t be able to share until July…super excited to be sewing with some of my favorite strike offs ever!
Saturday Seven 335: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I love these “17 Morning Routine Ideas to Help Jumpstart Your Day.” And I also loved the thoughts in “Moving Past Nostalgia to Find Presence.”
2. Recipes to Try
I’m definitely going to try these Weeknight Carne Asada Tacos and also freeze some of the meat for a future meal–my favorite time-saving hack for cooking! And Chicken Pot Pie with Biscuits–yes, please! And for something sweet…I’m definitely going to try these Lemon Crinkles. Finally, I just got this cookbook the other day and am looking forward to making so many recipes–I love Mel’s blog and this cookbook did not disappoint!
3. Quilt + Sew
First, I’m so happy to share that I now have my Farmhouse Garden quilt pattern available in a printed booklet (along with PDF format)! (I’ve had lots of requests for this one to be in booklet form, and the patterns just arrived yesterday)! And if you’re starting to think about your summer sewing, I highly recommend this post. It’s from a few years ago but was so helpful to me this week as I sat down and did some summer planning.
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
My favorite listen this week was Episode 293 of the Greg McKeown podcast on personal productivity (an interview with Laura Mae Martin who is an Executive Advisor at Google). This was a part 1, so I’ll be anxiously awaiting part two! I also really enjoyed Part 1 and Part 2 of the Million Dollar Weekend with Noah Kagan and Taylor Wallace with Greg McKeown.
5. Fat Quarter Shop April Sew Sampler Box: Spoiler Alert!
My Fat Quarter Shop April Sew Sampler Box arrived the other day, and it is such a good one! We’ll get a video filmed soon, but in the meantime, you can see the box contents below:
- Flower Girl Fat Quarters (6) from the just-arrived Flower Girl collection by Heather Briggs. (A really soft and pretty collection)!

6. Spring + Summer Fun Ideas + Favs
Have you ever thought about starting or joining a book club? I have! This post on “How a Book Club Can Make You Happier” has lots of terrific ideas for book club enthusiasts. And I just got these darling stickers to freshen up my planner and journals–love them and might even get the monthly subscription! (This planner is a good one if you’re looking for an inexpensive option). I’ve also been loving these laundry detergent sheets–so much easier than liquid detergent!
