Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the upcoming Moda Blockheads 4: Details & More sew along information. Yes, I’m super happy that we are once again doing a Moda Blockheads sew along. I participated in Moda Blockheads 2 and Moda Blockheads 3 and am once again happy to be a “blockhead.” Keep reading for all the details you’ll want to know for this exciting sew along.
Moda Blockheads 4: Details & More
Moda Blockheads 2022 Quilt Information
First, the Moda Blockheads 4 sew along officially begins next week on Wednesday, March 23rd. Be ready for the first block pattern release on that date. Blocks will be shared in two different sizes–9″ finished and 4.5″ finished. There will be 28 designer blocks along with 8 bonus blocks.
Moda Blockheads 4 Fabric Requirements – 9″ Blocks
If you are making the 9″ blocks, you’ll need 2.5 yards of background (or lots of backgrounds to add up to 2.5 yards). And you’ll also need 20 fat eighths. These fabric amounts don’t include sashing or borders, so you’ll eventually want to get more. There will be several different finishing options available that will be shared beginning in week three of the sew along (or thereabouts).
Moda Blockheads 4 Fabric Requirements – 4.5″ Blocks
If you are making the 4.5″ blocks, you’ll want to have 1.25 yards of background fabric(s) and at least 24 Layer Cake squares. Remember, these amounts don’t include sashing or borders.
Moda Blockheads 4 Fabric Requirements – 9″ + 4.5″ Blocks
If you want to make all of the blocks in both sizes and combine them into one quilt, you’ll need 3.75 yards of background fabric and 32 fat eighths. (Sashing and border fabric isn’t included here either).
