Happy Friday! International Quilt Market officially opens today. I’ll be taking lots of pictures to share with you next week. But today I thought I’d share a few more projects with Desert Bloom fabric.
First up is the adorable mini backpack my friend Kaitlin made for us.
She used Soft and Stable and the “Back at Ya Mini Backpack Purse” pattern from By Annie. We used the coral Blossom print along with the coral Mesa and ivory and geranium Spring Dots…
This pattern is perfectly sized for a child…or for a purse for an adult. I love that Kaitlin added a little bit of our selvedge inside!
I have a sweet little granddaughter who gets to use this backpack after market!
Kaitlin also sewed up a “Bowl Me Over” bag. This bag is a smaller sized version of Annie’s “Carry On” travel bag. It’s another great mid-size bag that I get to use after market!
Finally…and this was the last project I finished up Monday night…it’s a little table runner for the table we will have in our booth. It’s just a lot of patchwork squares left over from the quilts. I even used a scrappy binding pieced from binding left overs…
Whew…thanks so much for reading to the end! I’ll be back next week with lots of quilts to share from throughout the market showroom!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's all so gorgeous!! that peach/coral bag is just so lovely!! and I love the dark blue in the other bag: just too many beauties!!! I can't wait till your line come out: it has all my favorite colors in it!! Go take a look at the "Heirloom" quilt made by my friend Lynn Wilder (her blog is Sewn Wild Oaks). The quilt is in the Howard Marcus Booth, and she is at market too. I wish you could meet her: you'd love her. She's a sweet, fun and kind person, just like you! Well, have a wonderful time at Market!! Hugs, H

Very cute backpack and bag! I've been using a quilted bag but it was commercially made. Hope Market is good!

the colors in this collection are wonderful. I'm not a bag maker, but I wish I knew someone who'd make a couple of those bags for me – love that bowl me over bag.
