Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 402: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post with a roundup of inspiration I’ve found from around the internet this week. Keep reading for ideas for self-care, recipes, sewing, podcasts, and home ideas.
I’ve got lots of sewing planned for this weekend and am hoping to finish up a third quilt today with an upcoming collection. I’m also continuing to clean and organize in the studio–more on that soon in an upcoming blog post and video!

Saturday Seven 402: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
With the start of the school year just around the corner, I’ve been thinking about my schedule and how I can make it work for the busy seasons ahead. I will have a busy fall this year with quilt market in early October and a quilt retreat/event in early November. Here is an article I found especially useful: “Simplify Your Schedule to Overcome Busy.” And, if you’re looking for a simple and effective daily to-do list planner, this one is super good!
2. Recipes to Try
I always love Smitten Kitchen recipes and can’t wait to try this Grilled Chicken Salad with Cilantro-Lime Dressing. These Quick and Easy Baked Parmesan Zucchini Rounds also look great.
3. Quilt + Sew
It was so fun to see my Summer House (Heart of the Home) quilt in the New York Times (thank you to those who shared this with me)! Find the article here and scroll down to see my quilt (Strawberry Lemonade fabrics too)!
Also, patterns by my daughter Chelsi are on special at 25% off this month at Fat Quarter Shop. Find them here! This is a great chance to stock up on her designs! Additionally, my favorite pins are on sale for 25% off this month at Fat Quarter Shop here.
Finally, my friend Elizabeth took wonderful photos at a recent quilt show she attended!
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I absolutely loved this podcast from Best of Both Worlds on Wellness Trends and Reset Ideas. I appreciated the honesty of each host as she shared what her personal thoughts and experiences were about each topic. And I also enjoyed the Metrics 101 episode from Cal Newport this week.
5. Harbor Sew Along: Star Blocks
This week we shared another video for our Harbor Sew Along. The star blocks are small but so fun and easy to make with the tips I share in the video. Watch it above or head over to our YouTube channel to watch.
6. Home Decor
I just had to share this Coastal Cottage Living Room–it’s absolutely gorgeous! And wouldn’t these baskets in her room be perfect for quilt storage?!
