Oregon Coast and Hollyhill Teaching Dates

Happy Monday! It's good to be home! I was away at the Oregon coast for a few days and was completely amazed at the beauty that surrounded us there. I've never really traveled along the coast of the Pacific Northwest, and I definitely want to go back!

I'll share a few photos from the trip, and then I have some quilty news to share,

too! We stayed right off of Gleneden Beach in Oregon and had absolutely perfect weather. Even better was the fact that I got to take my sewing machine along and work on quilts with our new fabric collection while I was there!

We took breaks from sewing to take walks on the beach where we found lots of sand dollars and agates! We even saw seals and sea lions!

One afternoon we headed to Newport, Oregon where we were able to see the fishing ships in the harbor, see (and hear) sea lions, and eat yummy fresh-caught sea food. The whole trip was amazing, and on top of that I brought home three finished quilt tops and blocks to make another!

And since I'm talking about Oregon, I'm happy to announce that I'll be teaching a couple of classes this summer at Hollyhill Quilt Shop in West Linn, Oregon (Portland area). One of the classes I'll be teaching is my Fanfare quilt...pictured below in the Instagram photo (photo originally posted on Instagram by Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe.

I'll also be teaching "Kitchen Sink" which is the cover/background quilt from my book C&T Publishing Fresh Family Traditions: 18 Heirloom Quilts for a New Generation

If you are in the area, I'll be teaching August 5th and 6th. You can contact Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe for more information!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sounds like you had a very productive trip. I love the Pacific NW even though I've only been there a few times.

Good morning Sherri, I'm trying to figure out the logistics and risk of travelling with my sewing machine. When you fly, is it in your carry on? Do you have a machine dedicated for travel? I'm afraid to risk my new and already beloved Bernina. Thanks for any advice you can pass on.
