Happy Wednesday! I’ve been doing a little sewing but mostly a lot of designing and getting things ready to sew. I also made the cutest little patchwork heart for a quilt for a friend (someone else designed this little pattern for a group of us to use). It’s the perfect little block for scraps, and you can make
it any size! This block finishes at 6″ square with all of the squares and
half-square triangles cut to 1 ½″ x 1 ½″ before sewing. The side and top strips are also 1 ½″ wide. But I think this would be super fun with 2 ½″ squares and hst’s or even bigger ones!
I used a lot of starch since the pieces were so small, and I pressed all of the seams within the heart portion of the block open.
The fabrics are all from my Bright Sun fabrics for Moda. It was so fun to play with the different blues and use some of the low-volume prints for backgrounds!
I also wanted to share this adorable wall hanging…a mini Ohio Star reminiscent of barn quilts! I got it here (I believe she has sold out for now, but there is a note at the top of her shop with the next sale date information), and I can’t wait to hang it up!
I’m hoping to finish up most of the market quilts this weekend so things can get back to being a little more on the normal side around here!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
