Olfa 35th Anniversary Giveaway

Did you know Olfa is celebrating 35 years? It's hard to believe. I actually used  Olfa cutters while working at a fabric store called "Cloth World" during the 80's (I know...I'm dating myself). At the time I wasn't a quilter, but it was pretty fun demonstrating how the blade could accurately cut through so many layers of fabric at once!

If you fast forward to today...I can't imagine my life without my Olfa cutter, and the new Splash version is my absolute favorite!

In celebration of a wonderful 35 years, the folks at Olfa would like to give an Olfa rotary cutter and mat to one of my readers (US only please). See below for how to enter.

Also, I was able to make a quilt block for Olfa commemorative anniversary quilt featuring the color...yellow, of course...so fun!

So...to enter the giveaway just leave a comment mentioning your must make project before the end of summer.  That's it. I'll keep the giveaway open through Saturday evening.

I'll be back soon to share what I've been working on this week. Thanks so much for stopping by!

My must make for this summer is a liberty quilt I'm making from a giant pile of swatches I received as a gift (so lucky!). I'm working on an hourglass quilt, but since I just had a baby this spring it's slow going. I'm hoping to be done by the fall!

My goal is to finish a few small quilts for the organization Quilts for Kids and some other simple ones to donate to a local nursing home. It is hard to do this along with keeping up with my "real work," which is freelance book editing. It takes a lot of discipline to not take extended sewing breaks during the work day. Oh, if I could only earn a living by sewing!

My must make summer project is a chevron baby quilt for my newest great niece. I found the fabric (on clearance) it has little ice cream cones & popsicles on it - perfect for a summer baby! Thanks for the chance to win! Hard to believe Olfa has been around that long!

Nice yellow quilt block you made. Before the end of 2014 I will make a pinwheel quilt. Would love to try the Olfa Splash cutter as I have heard about how easy it is to use!

After seeing the simply small placemats, I want to make some for my table I'll use scraps and make them colorful. Probably make a few hot pads to match. I've been trying to use up my scraps; they are endless.

I must finish up a denim quilt for hubby. I really do not like working with denim, but it was his request. As soon as it's done, back to my cottons!
