Some Schnibbles Fun and Fun Fabrics!

Well, here is my fun news…Sinta of the Pink Pincushion blog came up with a great idea and invited me to share in the hosting fun of a new blog club! And…it’s going to be called A Year of Schnibbles. Anyone who loves these fun little patterns designed by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company is welcome to join…oh, and it would be helpful to love charm packs and prizes, too! We shared our ideas with Carrie, and she is excited about this club…in fact, she has some great surprises ready for those of you who participate!

Here’s how it will work…each month we will feature a different Schnibbles pattern. You get the pattern from your local quilt shop or from one of our featured shops. Make the pattern in any fabric of your choice…pick up some new charm packs…or raid your stash. Finish your quilt by the first of the next month, and we will have a quilt parade of finished Schnibbles as well as a drawing or two for some fun prizes! So…what do you think?! It’s going to be a lot of fun! Sign-ups start now until September 1st…at which time we will announce the first pattern!

If you would like to join in, here’s what you need to do: leave a comment on this post saying “I’m in” with a link to your blog; then, go over to Sinta’s blog and do the same. You can use the “Year of Schnibbles” picture above to add to your sidebar. Then, make sure you come back on the first of the month and comment on the club member’s post. When you finish your project post about it and then comment with a link to your post. If you’d like to participate but don’t have a blog, that’s fine too…just leave a comment and include your e-mail (when you finish your projects, you can e-mail a photo). Also, if you have a really busy month and need to skip out on a month, that’s fine too–but there will be a special drawing at the end for those who have participated each month!

Sinta and I will post all club members’ blogs on our sidebars and have a Schnibbles parade each month to share the finished quilts with links to your blogs! We will have a drawing or two each month for some really fun prizes and another drawing at the end for our 12-month participants!

Now for a few fun fabrics…some Sugar Flower by Lecien…can’t wait to use these…and I might need to get more!
I’ve been thinking about making a tumbler quilt for quite some time now and recently ordered these fun tumbler die-cuts from Jackie. Of course I had to untie the bow right away and sew them together. They went together perfectly, and made a fun little quilt/topper. Now I’m sure I want to make a larger tumbler quilt!


I’ve been working on several things this week and have a few finishes, a few near-finishes, and a couple of new things to share soon!

    LOVE Flower Sugar…I have a lovely stack waiting it's turn in line. It's very elusive and hard to find. I got mine in June at the NQA show. I'm going to follow along on your club. Too many irons in the fire right now.

I am so glad you liked the tumblers. I have one left if you want to make it bigger… yes, I am trying to tempt you… LOL! But I am also getting the bigger tumbler die next week so a larger quilt will be easier!

    I LOVE those tumblers! I haven't tried thsoe little patterns yet. I was looking at them in the store today though. There are sure some cute ones. If I didn't have a 3 month old I'd be ready to join!

    the tumbler quilt is beautiful! I visited Jackie's Etsy site a while ago & fell in love with the die-cut dresden wedges…
    Must be so much fun to sew those accurate cut shapes together…hmmm…and 1930's fabric are always delicious…
