Hello and welcome to the February edition of Simply Small Sewing…I have some quilts to share and a new project to feature!
First, I have to share a sneak peek of the next project…but more on this at the end of the post…here are some quilts from last month’s project!
The January quilt was my simple table topper which uses just one pack of Moda Candy squares (or 40 squares). Wendy made this gorgeous version pictured above.
And Christine made this beautiful Scrumptious table topper!
Jane’s quilt proves that this table topper is beautiful in more traditional fabrics too!
And Joy shows that a darker background can also be used.
Susan S has a beautiful version as well.
And our other Susan made another version of the pattern.
Hildy shared her table topper made as a variation of this Moda Candy pattern.
And Heidi sent in her table runner from this Moda Candy pattern.
I’d love to send some Moda Candy packs to all of this month’s participants…I’ll be e-mailing you all for your mailing addresses!
For this month’s pattern I was thinking along the lines of a mini quilt (I seem to be making a lot of those lately). I was also thinking about spring and used one Moda Candy pack of Daydream by Kate Spain. Since the finished quilt measures at 17″ x 17″ it is perfect for a mini quilt, a table topper, or even a pillow front. It will be fun to see what everyone makes.
I used ¼ yard of background and two fat quarters along with backing, and I’m really happy with the way this one turned out.
I’ll have this pattern for free download at my Craftsy pattern store for my regular readers through February 12th. After that it will still be available for a small fee.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ll join in the Simply Small parade next month!

Thanks for the cute free pattern. I hope to be in the mood for a small quilt! I am just coming off of finishing Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice in the small size, though I did add an extra row. So I am trying to do some less intense piecing for a bit. Love your colors. Thanks again-K-

I love those little candy packs. I've been collecting them, but I haven't used them. I like to do small projects in between the larger ones. Helps me decompress and feel like I've accomplished something between the long tasks.

Sherri, I love this pattern! It would be so cute as a baby quilt or even larger as a lap quilt. I also love Kate Spain's fabrics, so I really like your version.

I love seeing all those mini quilts made from the small squares – such a great variety. I always feel overwhelmed when thinking about making a large quilt, so being reminded that there are so many adorable small versions is good. Glad I discovered you!!
Many thanks!

It's lovely seeing everyone's toppers in the various fabrics. They all look so great. I'll keep an eye out for your email. Thanks again for sharing these patterns with us Sherri.

They all are so pretty, especially the Daydream one since I'm such a Kate Spain addict. I need to get my hands on some mini charms so that I can play too.
Johanna says
Just catching up! I finished my top a while ago, but I never got to quilt it. I made the blocks and added sashing between them. After that, the kids got sick and then I did (and way too many snowdays!) Hopefully, I can quilt it soon. I love seeing everone's projects.
