A simple block (fun to put together)…and Fresh Cottons fabric–there is just something about this quilt that I love. (It’s the third project for the Fig Tree Club, the “Summer Criss Cross Throw”). What is it about simplicity…Do you have a favorite “simple” quilt design?

That's very sweet, Sherri.
Sometimes the simple designs and blocks look the sweetest. I'm not sure that I have a favorite.

Very nice! Simple patterns are sometimes the most stunning 🙂
Carol says
Oh it's really fun Sherri…I like it a lot!

I agree 100%. Sometimes you just need a bit of simplicity in your life. 9 patches always do it for me. Talking about simplicity, I am really loving Fig Tree's new pattern called Clover. It's simple and yet her fabrics really make it shine.
Big Rig John says
I love a simple 4 patch or 9 patch alternating with a solid block.
Terriaw says
I do love this block too! I made cross blocks recently, but didn't care for the instructions. I like the look of the construction of these. Of course, its Fig Tree! They look especially fabulous in the Fresh Cotton fabrics too!

sweet! I have always liked a bow tie design and a pinwheel. They are probably not as simple as this quilt though.

I love the hourglass block. So simple, easy to make in many sizes and all effective! But right now whats on my designwall is hexagons in fresh Cotton, love Fig tree fabrics too.

That's a sweet quilt, Sherri. Simplicity can be so beautiful.
I enjoy simple block quilts but can't say that I have a favorite simple block. HMMM Maybe 4 patches?
Gwendie says
Yes! I love square in a square. I don't know what there is about that pattern, but when I have a gift quilt to make, it's my standard fall-back. Changing the colors and style of the fabrics makes it look completely different than the last one. I love the fabrics you picked for the quilt in your photo!
Thimbleanna says
Very pretty Sherri! I think my favorite is probably the good ol' pinwheel. No wait…maybe the nine-patch. Or the snowball. I can't decide!
Sinta Renee says
You won't believe this but I have that kit in my tote bag to cut out during my lunch time today!
I love Pinwheel blocks the best. French Rose and Romantic Reflections are my patterns for when I need something quick!

There's a lot of truth to the saying, "Less is more".
My favorite block of all times is the churn dash…traditional yet simple.
Deb says
I love it – so simple, but so pretty. I just bought some of this fabric and this is a great way to use it up!
Madame Samm says
Very pretty Sherry, and I will agree this fabric is the perfect choice…fav block for me is the card trick, but simple it is not…
I love hugs and kisses for simplicity…blessings on this hot day…madame samm

You completely amaze me. Love this quilt. Love your stuff!! All of it. See you in the AM.
Sewn With Grace says
Just love it! One of my favorite blocks is the nine patch. I'm really liking quilts made with a white background, it really seems vintagey to me. This pattern reminds me of bandaids (in a good way) prettily covering the "ouchies" Is that crazy or what?
Dawn says
I like it!!
Magnolia Bay Quilts says
I seriously love that pattern! Oh, and the fabrics, too!
Janet says
Very pretty Sherri! It shows off the fabric very well!

Thank you for such a wonderful journey. I just started Blogging on July 1, which was your first date as well. I have gone back and read all of you entries. Again THANK YOU! I love all of your posts and you are a great insperation to me. I will be joining your "A Year of Schnibbles" next month. I am even thinking of going back to the beginning and doing all of them. What fun that will be.

I like a blog that asks a question.
I like the Chinese Coins quilts. Great for jelly rolls.
Having said that I think the nine patch is one that is a staple in my brain to have just plain fun creating.
White would be my favourite background followed by a vintage yellow.
I'm a simple girl at heart.
