Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing a new fast and fun quilt pattern from Fat Quarter Shop. A couple of months ago I was asked if I’d like to make and review this new pattern. Since I’m always looking for easy patterns for a quick gift and to recommend to beginner quilters, I agreed to do some Jolly Bar sewing.
Jolly Bars are Fat Quarter shop exclusive pre-cuts which are basically half of a Layer Cake.
The pattern calls for two Jolly Bars; I used two from the Hello Darling collection, but as I was sewing I kept thinking how much fun it would have been to combine Jolly Bars from two different fabric collections!
The blocks go together quickly. Cut your background fabric, and you’re ready to go! I used left-over DaySail white tone on tone fabric from my Snapshots quilt. I think it added just that little extra something!
After making the blocks, you sew them into rows…easy! This would really be great pattern for a new quilter. I first learned to quilt using Eleanor Burns “Quilt in a Day” patterns, and this is definitely a make it in a day project!
I can’t wait to get this quilted up…
And…this was my first Hello Darling quilt…love this collection!
It’s ready to be quilted…I’m going to wait to choose a binding when it comes back.
Be sure to visit these blogs today to see the rest of the Jolly Bar No Bake quilts:
Kimberly has a YouTube video for the pattern here. And find the No Bake Jolly Bar pattern here! Fat Quarter Shop also has a kit available here with a finishing kit for this version here.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Darling quilt and so easy! Will save this one for a quick boy's quilt, just change the colors and the linear look will be fab.
