Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 372: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post. On Saturdays I share a fun roundup of inspiration I’ve found from all around the internet during the previous week. I hope some of these ideas will inspire your weekend and the week ahead. Before I jump into today’s post, I want to share my grief and sadness in watching the LA fires that are raging now–my husband and I lived in LA county for over a year when we were first married, and that part of southern California still holds a piece of my heart. I can’t imagine what those affected are going through. Sending love and praying for everyone there.
I’m super excited to be able to be sewing again this weekend! I recently finished up a quilt with our upcoming collection and plan to start on the next one today. This group has been so much fun to sew with (stay tuned in February). Also, I’m hoping to get some home projects completed this weekend as well. We’ll see how that goes!

Saturday Seven 372: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this post on “How to Be Happier in 2025“–so many good ideas! Also, Laura Vanderkam is beginning a time-tracking challenge next week. I always play along with this at the beginning of the year and learn much about where I spend my days.
2. Recipes to Try
Green Chili Chicken Stew–yes, please–comfort food for now! And these Salmon Bowls look delicious and healthy.
3. Quilt + Sew
I’ve got my post on Scrap Quilts I want to make in 2025 listed below, but you also won’t want to miss the video included on the post and also on our YouTube channel. I’ve got lots of scrap quilt ideas, and nearly all of them are free!
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
If you love the Hallmark/Netflix Christmas movies, you’ll love the first segment of this week’s Cal Newport podcast: “Hallmark Movies and the Deep Life.” And find ideas for Winter Fun along with more details on the time tracking challenge I mentioned in the self-care category here.
5. Organizing
This post on Organizing Crafts Ideas has a lot of inspiration + products that can easily be adapted for quilting. I just got these extra deep storage bins that I’m loving in my quilting closet!
6. Valentines Day
I know, I know–it’s just January, but Valentines will be here before you know it. I’m working on a fun new wall hanging right now that I can’t wait to share. And if you’re looking for some fun Valentines projects, you’ll find lots of ideas below.
I’ve also got a post with Easy Heart Quilt Patterns and Projects here.

I realize the ads and pop ups are a revenue stream; they’ve now gotten too buggy that I can no longer enjoy your blog.

I don’t have any ads pop up when I’m on this site. I use the free version of Adblock Plus. Maybe that would help you.
Good luck!

Every time I try to watch a video, it adds another ad, and then switches to a different video. Don’t know why this is happening, but it is extremely frustrating.
sherri McConnell says
You need to interact with the current video to stop that from happening (enlarge the screen, adjust volume, etc) or it will switch. Sorry about that, it’s just how the program is.

love my Saturday Sevens! Always something good in them. And i agree, I think it is time to do some Valentine stitching. Love the wall hanging. Here in Ohio we are very cold, so anytime in my sewing room helps pass the days! thanks for your inspiration!
