Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing the Saturday Seven 371: Lifestyle & More for Quilters which features inspiring articles, quilting, sewing, home and organization ideas and more. Here at home, I’m getting back into my sewing room after taking down all of my Christmas decorations.

Saturday Seven 371: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this article on the benefits of “doing nothing” with your favorite people! And since I love getting to read as a fun self-care activity, I highly recommend this article on “7 Simple Ways to Read More this Year (from the Modern Mrs. Darcy, of course).”
2. Recipes to Try
I’ve been wanting to make dumplings for such a long time and now have a recipe to try (recommended by a friend). And these Easy Korean Beef Bowls are also on the menu for this weekend. Finally, I’ve been making my favorite smoothie on repeat lately–trying to get my fruits and protein in (I found some mandarin oranges without added sugar that I’ve been using recently)!
3. Quilt + Sew
The December Sew Sampler Box, Flurries of Fun, arrived over the holidays, and it’s a good one! We didn’t have a chance to film an unboxing, but here are the contents in case you’re looking for some fun project ideas. Also new is the opportunity to purchase Sew Sampler gift subscriptions!
- Rosemary Cottage by Camille Roskelley Mini FQ Bundle
- 14″ Project Bag Quit as You Go Kit (box exclusive)
- 5×8 Reversible Cutting Mat
- Pieceful Baskets Block 9 Pattern
- Snowdrift Quilt Pattern and Pattern Holder (box exclusives)
- Find a La Carte December Boxes here
- Gift Sew Sampler Boxes here
4. Book & Podcast Recommendations
I like listening to other people’s goals to give me ideas for projects and goals throughout the year, so I really enjoyed Sarah’s Sharing 2025 Goals episode earlier this week. I also enjoyed this goals episode on the Happier with Gretchen Rubin podcast. (And find tips for writing a 25 for 25 list here).
5. $5 Pattern of the Month: Weekender!
My Weekender quilt (pictured above in our Harper’s Garden collection) has now been updated into booklet format and now also contains a table runner option. It’s the January 2025 pattern of the month and is on sale for $5 in paper or PDF format.
6. Goals
Now is definitely the time to get lots of inspiration for goal setting. Both of my podcast recommendations are on this topic, and I also found a few blog posts that are helpful to generate ideas or actually get your list made. Find Gretchin Rubin’s tips for writing a 25 for 25 list here. And use this list of 40 goals divided into the categories of health, relationships, career, and personal development to come up with ideas.
7. Recently on the Blog
Below you’ll find posts from earlier this week on the blog:
- A Quilting Life Podcast Episode 129 Show Notes (Listener Question Episode)
- A Quilting Life Favorites December 2024
