Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing my A Quilting Life Favorites December 2024. I love taking a look back each month as I write these posts–it really does serve as a little review for me and helps to keep me on track with my projects and deadlines. It’s also the final day of the year today which means everything 2025 starts tomorrow. While no years are without their challenges, this year has been a good one overall. I am looking forward to many things coming up in the next twelve months and of course lots of sewing and quilting!

Most Read Posts
It’s always so fun to see these most-read posts each month. Some of the actual most-read posts from my blog this month were from earlier months (and even years) as people were looking for small gifts and projects to make. The posts below were the most read of the ones I actually wrote in December.

Made this Month
The month started out a little slow for sewing as I had gotten sick over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I was still able to get some fun sewing finished up. Top of my list was to get my Swell Christmas Santa quilt finished up (a long-time bucket list project). I actually just finished up the binding on this one on Christmas Day! Everyone who has seen it loves this quilt!
I was also able to finish up the 2024 Block of the Month quilt with my 8″ finished blocks. I picked it up from the quilter just before Christmas and also got the binding finished up just a couple of days ago. This one is a nice wall hanging size.
I’ve also finished a wall hanging and quilt top with an upcoming fabric collection and am busy working on a third project with this group. I think you’ll love these fabrics when we are able to share them in February!
5 Things I’m Loving Right Now
And now for the things I’m loving right now! This is always super fun to think about each month!
- Holiday Travel! We are usually home for the entire month of December, but this year we were able to take two trips–one to California which was my husband’s gift to me. We also last minute ended up spending Christmas in Salt Lake City, Utah after our youngest was unable have enough days off to travel home for the holiday. Both trips were really fun! It was so delightful seeing the two different types of Christmas decorations at the coast and in a colder climate!
- Some Amazon Favorites from this month: Sticky Note Tabs to mark pages I’m reading–I’m well stocked with these now! I was also excited to find my very favorite treats on Amazon–these Dark Chocolate Lemon Creme Cups are the best (plus I love that they are individually wrapped)!
- I love these checklist notepads and have a few of them! Also, this softcover 2025 planner is perfect for your purse or your sewing room (and it’s on sale now, too)!
- These days right at the end and beginning of the year–I feel like my schedule is open and I can work on home projects and sewing fun things. I’m planning to make most of today and tomorrow “just for fun” sew days and try out some new patterns!
- Planning for the new year and new projects at this time of year. I do this pretty regularly, but there is just something about the start of the year that makes this extra fun. Watch for a blog post and video on this coming Thursday!

Happy New Year Sherri
Always enjoy your emails and videos. Thanks for sharing so much quilting tips and projects.
You featured a holiday quilt on your sofa. It was holiday sayings. Perhaps panels sewn together? I checked all your fabrics and could not find it. Would love to make one for next year. Could you share where the fabric came from? I’m sure it’s sold out, however I can start checking for next year. Thanks you for all you do to help us find and complete projects!

It was a Sweetwater panel from a few years ago. Not sure if you could still find them on Ebay or Etsy!
