Happy Saturday! Today I’m sharing my Saturday Seven 349: Lifestyle & More for Quilters post which is a roundup of fun things I’ve found from around the internet this week. It’s been a busy week here at home for us–we watched three of our grandchildren here for four days while their parents took a little vacation, and we were kept on our toes! The visit was a lot of fun, and I spent a lot of time outdoors, a lot of time watching gymnastics and swimming with the kids, and a lot of time cooking–so many fun memories. But it will be nice to get into my sewing room today and get some works in progress more in progress! I hope you get to sew this weekend too!

Saturday Seven 349: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I love the ideas in this post on creating a Mid-Year Vision Board–and even if you don’t create an actual “board,” these ideas are great for journaling. And finally, here is a fun self-care idea for kids–a happiness journal. I’m going to order a couple for Christmas gifts!
2. Recipes to Try
It’s still really hot here, so I’ve got all of my favorite summer salads on rotation. I am going to try this Tossed Chicken Salad with Greens, Fruit, Almonds, and Blue Cheese this weekend. My neighbor just brought us another batch of zucchini from her garden, and I’m going to use it for this Fluffy Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cake. I am also going to try this Tropical Smoothie sometime this week–it’s full of my favorite flavors.
3. Quilt + Sew
First…I have a few early arrival Laguna Sunrise precuts in the shop: Jelly Rolls, Honeybuns, Charm Packs, and Mini Charms. Find the early release Laguna Sunrise prints here. (I will have more precuts next month when this collection ships, too). I’m also really looking forward to my copy of this new booklet from EQ arriving: EQ8 Deep Dive: Fabrics, Panels, and Photos. This will be a helpful book for those who want to import specific fabrics for use in designing with this program.
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
This book was highly recommended by Sarah, and I’m excited to start reading it! (Also the author is going to be a guest on her podcast next week–I’ll let you know how the book and the episode are soon! I also really loved the “Design Your Ideal Work Week” episode of Best of Both Worlds this week.
5. Home Organizing and Decorating
I just printed off this 30 Days Declutter Challenge Printable. I love that it’s pretty open-ended so you can do a lot or a little in each category. I also loved this post by Laura on how we can better use categories in our list-making. And finally (no, I’m not decorating for fall yet) this post on Fall Home Decor Ideas has lots of inspiration.
6. End of Summer Plans
Laura Vanderkam recently wrote that June was the “Friday night” of Summer, July the Saturday of Summer and August the Sunday of Summer. With that in mind, I’ve been trying to make some plans so that my August will prove relaxing and at the same time a little bit productive. I think we’ll be staying close to home most of the month, so I should be able to get a lot accomplished. I recently got this fun “Brain Dump Journal” that I’m excited to begin using this month and beyond.
