Hello, friends, and happy Saturday! Today I’m sharing my Saturday Seven 346: Lifestyle & More for Quilters. My Saturday posts feature a roundup of inspiring things I’ve found from around the internet earlier in the week. Plus, this week’s post is punctuated with some fun new photos of our most recent collection with Moda Fabrics. (Be sure to read yesterday’s post to see the fabrics up close and watch the collection video on YouTube or yesterday’s blog post).

Saturday Seven 346: Lifestyle & More for Quilters
1. Self-Care
I loved this article on “The Powerful Effect of Bringing Play into your Life.” And also…here is a summer (or winter) tip: have a mindset for the season. I’ve been seeing this idea in several different places and have really taken it to heart! I love being able to tell myself that it’s summer, it’s hot, and I can take it easy!
2. Recipes to Try
This Lemon-Garlic Linguine is on my to-make list. And we recently made my favorite Blueberry Muffins…I haven’t found anything quite like them, and they are super easy and delicious. I’m going to try these Gruyere and Bacon Egg Bites–I feel like they will be a good alternative to my favorite Breakfast Freezer Burritos. And finally, this one is random–but Five Ingredient Hot Fudge Sauce stopped me in my tracks!
3. Quilt + Sew
I’m putting together my Blockheads 5 quilt, and I’m so excited about how it’s coming together. I’ll have all of the details for you next Wednesday–stay tuned! And, I’m going to get caught up on some works in progress over the next few weeks including my 2024 Moonbeams Quilt Along–release five was recently shared (find the free pattern and quilt information here).
4. Book + Podcast Recommendations
This week I was able to listen to some terrific podcasts while sewing. I really enjoyed the following episodes:
- Gretchen Rubin Episode 490: Dozens of Hacks for Getting Regular Exercise
- Best of Both Worlds Episode 362: Intentional Subtraction
- And Best Laid Plans Episode 206: Summer Reading
5. New EPP Tutorial with Me + Moda Fabrics
While I was in Dallas at Moda Fabrics headquarters in early June, I was able to film a couple of videos. One of them is a fun tutorial on English Paper Piecing. You can watch it now on their YouTube channel. Annie who manages the new film studio there did such a fantastic job with the filming and editing!
6. New Patterns in the Shop
I’m super excited to share six new quilt and project patterns with our Raspberry Summer collection. I’ll be sharing each project individually over the coming weeks, but they are all in the shop now for 25% off for one week only (paper and PDF). Find links to each new design below:
- Dresdens (Wall hanging, pillow, and runner–Moda will be kitting this)
- Fireflies Quilt
- Harbor Row Quilt
- I Heart Flowers Quilt
- Raspberry Summer Tote
- Star Bright 2 Quilt
7. Earlier this Week on the Blog
Below you’ll find the posts from earlier this week on the blog. The new fabric was just shared yesterday, so be sure to check out that post if you haven’t seen it yet:
- A Quilting Life Podcast Episode 115 Show Notes
- Star of Wonder Mystery Quilt

I really enjoyed your YouTube on English Paper Piecing. I have done it in the past but the acrylic ruler is a game changer to trim my charm squares to size. I have ordered it (it came yesterday) and I have ordered another package of paper pieces to get started. Thank you.
