There is just something about a finish…even if it is a little one. Almost-finished just isn’t the same as completely finished. And with a lot of projects on my “want to make” list, I needed some complete finishes on the books. I know I showed a picture of this tumbler mini the other day, but now it’s really finished with a binding and little hanging pockets on the back. I normally would have gone with a darker blue binding…but I didn’t have anything darker on hand. I do love the light print that I used, and it will look fine where I plan to hang this.
I thought this little quilt was worthy of a close up (I think the mini orange peels are the perfect quilt design, too). These little tumblers are about the size of my thumb. This sort of makes me want to make tiny, thumb-sized blocks for days. Sort of. But there is just something about things in miniature that makes me fall in love with these little projects. This quilt brings back wonderful memories of one of my favorite vacations ever, too–so it’s nice to have it complete.
I also finished up five more Christmas ornaments. One Moda Candy pack (I used Solstice by Kate Spain) made eight ornaments total. I used Moda Dottie for the bindings. I’m super determined to be ready for Christmas this year…
I also finished up the binding on my other mini quilt I shared the other day. With this one I knew that my binding choice would really influence the look of the quilt. I decided that because of where I plan to display it, green would be the best choice.
I actually had two more little finishes last night. One is on it’s way for publication in an upcoming magazine issue, and the other is my next “Simply Small” project. Be back soon! Thanks so much for stopping by!
