I’d been wanting to make this quilt for so long…
I’ve had the Schnibbles pattern “Short Story” for quite a while now but wanted to make it with Bliss (by Bonnie and Camille for Moda)…and I absolutely love the way it turned out! The pattern actually calls for charm packs, but since all the pieces are cut from 1 ½″ strips I cut strips instead, and I think it saved a lot of time cutting…not to mention that my left-over pieces are perfect for honeybun projects or string quilts.
Now that Bliss yardage is available (I got mine at FatQuarterShop) I was also able to get the outer border on my Bliss “Paper Roses” quilt…
Two quilts I ♥…both finished in one Blissful weekend!

I love my Bliss Short Story quilt but I made the Big Schnibble. Someday I'll make the small one, too.
Truly a Blissful week end – beautiful quilts.

Yay for your blissful quilts!
Wise decision to make 'Short Story' from strips…I think it's much more fun piecing it this way.
Love your 'Paper Roses'…I could bite into the cherry border ;o).
Hugs, Julia

Fantastic! I just love Short Story. It seems like no matter what fabric I see it in, I love it. I must love the pattern, because I bought it twice by accident, and I have the book, which also has it in it! I guess I need to make it. I sure love this fabric, too!

The Bliss fabric is just that, isn't it? Absolute Bliss.
I think it is one of those collections that someone would really have to work at it to make an ugly quilt. It's just gorgeous fabric.
Rather like your two quilts. They're both beautiful and I love the borders you chose for Paper Roses. Perfect. 🙂
Sharon Kay says
So beautiful and cheerful looking! You were a busy lady over the weekend!
a little bit biased says
They're both so beautiful. You're lucky that you could start a new project. I have so many past projects or new patterns or bakeshop projects going on that I can't ever get to my old projects, so that I'm free to start new "just for fun" projects! They're both lovely and you've inspired me to get quilting!

Both are beautiful and I love the Bliss fabric line, but none of the quilt stores in my area are carrying this line, what a shame. Guess they'll lose my business to an on-line store.
