It seems like forever since I’ve had a chance to work on my Farmer’s Wife blocks. This past week was week 15, so everyone should have 30 blocks to be caught up with the quilt-along going on around blogland. I have 33 blocks in each of my sets, so I’m okay, but I am hoping to get some extra blocks made soon.
First up is block 20, Churn Dash, a pattern I’ve always loved…
Next I made block 109, Windows. I had fun with this one, too.
And finally, block 68, Postage Stamp. This block is a lot of fun; it was great to be able to use up some really tiny scraps for this one! I’m really getting close to finishing my Flurry version quilt since I’m just making a lap size–I only have 17 or 18 blocks to go to have enough.
I’m pretty sure my Fig Tree fabric version quilt will take the whole year, though. I have to make 3 blocks a week from here on out to have enough for the king-sized quilt I want to make.
The Churn Dash block is a combination of fabrics from Mill House Inn and Buttercup.
Windows is a combination of Mill House Inn and Strawberry Fields.
Postage Stamp is made entirely from Butterscotch and Rose…I actually had all of these 1 ½″ squares left over from making the log cabin quilt for Joanna for Spring Market (see it here)!
Swoon came back from the quilter this week…I’ll share it as soon as I get the scrappy binding sewn on! Hope you have a wonderful weekend…and thanks for stopping by!
Congratulations also to Joanna who won the copy of Just Around the Corner by Kari Carr…I’ll be e-mailing you to get your mailing address!

Your FW blocks make me want to jump into the quilt along – I just don't know if I can tackle it right now. Love both versions so much! Can't wait to see the finished Swoon. thanks for sharing.

I love those Christmas colors so much! I want to jump in too but I think I'm probably too far behind. I love seeing your blocks.

Woah, the postage stamp block would have done for me for sure – you did a great job of lining all the seams up! I can't wait to see how these blocks all look in a quilt!

I absolutely positively LOVE your blocks. You are such an inspiration it isn't true. I see your blocks and think I can do it too. We'll have to wait and see though.

Lookin' good Sherri — you'll be done before you know it. And how fun is that Flurry version going to be every year for Christmas? Are you going to try to finish it for this year?
Jackie says
I really like your FW blocks. Are you using a Fat Quarter Bundle or something else. I really love the way the blocks work so well together.

Love your blocks…and two sets! They both look great. Love the look of Swoon…mine has not progressed any further but I hope to return to it soon!

I am rather behind in my FW blocks. You are inspiring me to get caught up ASAP!

I'm so envious of your FW blocks. They are truly lovely. I don't think I've seen any others out of Christmas fabric, and I love that idea.
I made six blocks, all of which turned out wonky, so I set the whole project aside and am too intimidated to try again. 🙁
In the meantime, I continue to enjoy seeing the blocks in blogland, and yours are fabulous!!

Beautiful blocks as always! I love the 'windows' blocks in both fabrics this time. I can't wait to try some of these blocks – you've definitely been inspiring!

I used mostly Moda in my first Farmer's Wife quilt. I have expanded a bit this time but I still love Mill House Inn and Garden Party.

I just borrowed the Farmer's wife book from the public library so I could have a good look at it.
So many patterns and not enough time to make them all.
Love all your pretty blocks- churn dash is one of my favorite ones too.
I have made a watercolor hanging using the churndash block.
Have a great week.
Regards,
Anna

My favorite is the postage stamp block. Do all quilters love squares as much as I do?

I haven't had time to work on my Farmer's Wife either. My company leaves tomorrow so I plan on being able to do a little sewing as soon as I can!!

You are still a FW…grin. Your blocks are beautiful. I've been trying to catch up with another project and now this one is behind. Two many things going at once.
