September first…wow…I can’t believe it…where did June, July and August go?! Anyway, I’m happy September has arrived; hopefully the cooler fall temperatures will arrive here soon as well. And today is Schnibbles Day here at AQuiltingLife and over at Sinta’s Pink Pincushion blog. We have two fun parades of “Honeycomb” quilts today (bright and cheerful seemed to be the fabrics of choice)! Also, we get to announce next month’s pattern…and I think you’re going to love it! Pictured above is the very first Schnibble I made, “Nash.” (I believe the fabrics are from a Sandy Gervais fall line). Seriously, I didn’t even really know what a Schnibble was back then. I was attending a quilt retreat, and one of the vendors had this little quilt on display with a kit for sale. I purchased it and sewed in my room during the evenings and had it finished before I went home. I couldn’t believe I could make such a fun little project with a couple of charm packs and a little bit of fabric. I was hooked…and sew the obsession with these little quilts began. Anyway…this month is FREE CHOICE! So you get to make any of the Schnibbles you’ve had on your list.
Or maybe you’ll want to make one of Carrie’s newly releases Schnibbles–6 wonderful new patterns! There’s Spot, Summer Day, Doc, Bibelot, I.S.T.H., and Full House. I love them all. I’m going to be making one or two or maybe even three this month. Because I can’t decide! I am going to make Full House first…I think Carrie must have been reading my mind…I’ve been wanting to make a little houses quilt for my front entryway for quite a while…and here it is! So have fun picking a pattern…and now for the parade!
May Kristin made this gorgeous version with my friend Lori’s Sew Cherry fabric line…I seriously heart this quilt!
Michelle made this stunning version using Kate Spain’s Terrain. It’s absolutely beautiful Michelle!
Paulette (no blog) made this beautiful version using Fig Tree and 3 Sisters fabrics…so pretty!
Sandi F (no blog) used the Sweetwater fabric collection Pure with some extras thrown in for fun. This version reminds me of the ocean…love this one too!
This version was sent in by Linda using Comfort Collections for a Cause…just a beautiful version!
Sandie had just one charm pack and so decided to make a little tote with her project. What a fun idea!
Thanks so much to everyone who participated and sent in photos! Make sure you head over to Sinta’s blog to see some more fun quilts…and have a great day!
